Tito Mboweni’s cooking ruined by load shedding

Tito Mboweni was left with a hungry belly after his plan to cook tinned pilchards failed dismally, due to load shedding.

The former Minister of Finance has a fondness for the fishy dish, which he regularly prepares to the amusement of his 1,4 million Twitter followers.


 

 

 

But Tito had to pause his culinary concoction, thanks to Eskom.Not for the first time, Tito documented how his plan to cook tinned pilchards came to an abrupt end.

Tweeting a few hazy pics in the dark, he shared: “Just as I was preparing my meal, boom! Darkness. Ja neh. Ku rough”.Surprisingly, the former cabinet minister does not own a generator.

Just last weekend, Tito cooked up another fishy dish – “hot fish soup.” But Tito’s fans commented that they would not serve the meal to the “worst enemy.”

“Is this real-life Fear Factor?” asked one tweep.Meanwhile, Tito Mboweni will be digging deep into his pockets to afford his favourite meal – tinned pilchards.

In a tweet that gave South Africans chest pains, a Twitter user tweeted a picture of the price of tinned pilchards – R26,99 for a 400g can. In recent months, the canned has seen a spike in its price.
