Gavaza is married to Trevor Nyakane, a South African rugby player, born on 4 May 1989. He plays for Racing 92 in the French Top14, and also the South Africa national rugby team. The two started dating on 19 July 2011. Their connection blossomed over the years, and on March 6, 2017, they took their relationship to the next level by getting engaged.

Adding to their happiness, Gavaza and Trevor welcomed a precious addition to their family on September 11, 2019, a girl by the name of Skylar.
