Big Names in the New Drama That Will Replace Rhythm City on ETV, and Some of it’s New Cast Members.

The much-anticipated daily soap House of Zwide, which will replace Rhythm City, will star Vusi Kunene, Baby Cele, and Lindani Nkosi.

Kunene, Cele, and Nkosi are among the cast members of the upcoming soapie, according to reliable sources. Until an official statement, commercial free-to-air broadcaster e.tv, along with production companies Bomb Productions and VideoVision Entertainment, are continuing to keep the cast a secret…

After years of playing the wicked character Jack Mabaso, Kunene quit Generations: The Legacy last month. Cele is fresh off of her role as Gabisile on Uzalo, which she has played since 2018.

Before Isidingo ended last year, Nkosi was known for his role as Lincoln Sibeko, and he most recently played Clive Ngubane in the TV drama Housekeepers, for which he received a nomination for the 2021 SA Film and Television Awards (Saftas).

Thapelo Ramatsui, an e.tv communication specialist, declined to comment and said the cast would be revealed in due time.

However, the channel has announced that the show will launch on July 19, when Rhythm City, which has been on the air for 14 years, comes to an end.

“It couldn’t have happened at a better time. “In a world plagued with uncertainty and misery, e.tv presents you a show of hopes and ambitions to elevate and inspire viewers to think they can do anything they set their minds to,” said Helga Palmer, e.tv’s head of local productions.

“It will come as no surprise when the show hits South Africa by storm, as Bomb Productions and VideoVision Entertainment are known for honest storytelling.”

Under the theme “your ambitions are valid, no matter your age,” the presentation will center on the world of fashion.

Bomb Productions executive producer Desiree Markgraaff said, “We acknowledge and are humbled to be following in the footsteps of Rhythm City, which has carved a trail in this time slot.”

“We are ecstatic to be working on a new show for e.tv, and we hope that audiences will enjoy House Of Zwide. Everyone has had a difficult time at Covid-19, so we decided to tell a story that reminds us that no matter what hurdles we face, we must never give up on our dreams.”
