This is the Gomora actor who allegedly died after committing suicide

Recently several prominent figures have lost their lives due to suicide and this is slowly becoming a norm in the entertainment industry. This year alone, the industry has lost popular figures who took their own lives. This has been attributed to depression and the stigma around the mental illness has been fingered as one of the main cause of these strings of suicide.

Another celebrity has reportedly alleged to have taken his life. The heartbreaking news were reported by former Scandal actress, Masasa Mbangeni on Twitter. “Heartbroken to read that young actor from Gomora has passed from suicide. May he find peace and rest”, Masasa said.

Following speculations as to who has passed on, several media reports revealed that the actor is Siyabonga Zubane who plays the role of Sdumo on Gomora. It was revealed that Siyabonga Zubane was fighting from depression and financial stuggles. His colleague Leera Mthethwa plays Mrs Jackie Hlongwane on Gomora took to her Twitter account to share how saddened she is following his passing.


 
In a recent interview with a local publication, the young actor said, “When you appear on-screen, people assume that you have a lot of money. Kuya mangaza, acting is a passion and has very little to do with money,” he said duringthe interview. Born in the township of Alexandra, where the telenovela is shot, Siyabonga said growing up was tough. He revealed that he was forced to drop out of varsity because he could not afford to pay the fees and related costs.

The news of Siyabonga’s passing have left so many of his fans and fellow entertainers shattered. The guy was starting to show signs of growth and excellence in the industry. Here’s what social media users and his colleagues are saying:
