Police Have Seized Senzo Meyiwa’s Murder Weapon

Senzo was murdered by intruders who allegedly broke into the home with the intention of walking away with the resident’s valuables. It was widely reported that the criminals were attempting to shoot Kelly before Senzo took a fatal bullet for his lover.

According to News24, police have now made a major breakthrough in the unresolved murder case of the footie. The publication has reported that police have uncovered the weapon which was used to kill Senzo and the murderer behind the killing.

According to the publication, a senior police official who is probing the murder case said the murderer and the weapon used to kill the soccer legend are very significant in resolving the case.

It is reported that the weapon was found in a safe at the Cleveland Police Station, and the man who pulled the trigger is currently incarcerated as he is serving a 30-year sentence in the Johannesburg Prison for the murder of taxi boss Reggie Mohlala who was killed with the same gun.

The paper reports that a forensic report issued by the laboratories, criminal record, and crime scene management team, has confirmed that the gun is the one they have been hard at work searching for.

The dossiers have also revealed that Police wanted to ask the NPA to arrest everyone who was present during the night when Senzo was gunned down. One of the people who was present is Kelly Khumalo who was his girlfriend.

The star has been accused of being involved in the murder of Senzo and she has been constantly dragged on social media by many for apparently knowing the killers. Kelly recently expressed her dissatisfaction with the SAPS investigation into the murder case when the police are dragging their feet in finding the perpetrators.

“I don’t know why police have not found the perpetrators. There were fingerprints. A hat (belonging to one of the armed men) was found. There were witnesses.”

“The law is failing us. I don’t understand why they have not found those people. There are fingerprints,” she said

Senzo’s father Sam Meyiwa even died without getting justice for his son. The publication reports that a 9mm firearm has been seized and it was apparently set for disposal after a disposal form was signed off in 2017.
