There’s no doubt Mzansi is proud of all its stars who featured in Beyoncé’s Black Is King, but no-one has been as visibly proud as Busiswa.

Over the weekend, Busiswa shared all her emotions on social media as she watched the film with the rest of the world.

In a series of videos, the musician who features on the song My Power spilled the tea on the project, including flying in first class to Los Angeles in the US.

“It was my first time in first class. We got on a plane and dropped in LA.

“I connected with Moonchild in LA. What you have to understand is that both Moonchild and I are from Eastern Cape, and we were in LA together to do what felt like the most incredible project we were ever going to be a part of.

“We didn’t know anything, we had no details, we just presented ourselves. We were just showing up,” she said.

Busiswa spoke about how she was holding back when she started, but she was quickly encouraged to “go hard”, and that’s when she left everything on the set.

The star said she couldn’t believe it when she met the queen and received a compliment .

She said after a few takes, Beyoncé gave her a young round of applause and said: “Girl, you’re a beast!”Taking to Instagram, Busiswa also wrote a letter of gratitude to Bey, thanking her for changing her life.

“My Queen Beyoncé, I thank God for your life. The vessel you’ve allowed yourself to be. The seat you have given so many at the table. The realisations you’ve created for millions of young girls, but particularly for girls in my hometown of Mthatha, SA. Girls who will see me on your platform and unleash their own inner queens because they realise everything you can dream is within reach.”

“My life is changed. My own black king, my son, will understand greatness comes from authenticity and staying true to himself. Your impact will linger on for generations. Your legacy will forever be #TheGift. Thank You,” she wrote.

We think it is time to start a petition to get Alicia Keys and her hubby, Swizz Beatz, SA citizenship because the couple are WITHIN and massive Babes Wodumo fans.

The pair have never shy to flaunt their love for our country, and over the weekend they posted videos of them getting down to local star Babes Wodumo.

In one video, Alicia is seen jiving to Babe’s hit Wololo and screaming for the camera. If you thought sis Alicia was just riding the hype train, Swizz also posted a video of the whole family getting down to a newer song by Babes.

Dancing on a koppie – no, not in Melville – Alicia and the kids were busting moves while daddy Swizz egged them on.As local fans freaked out on the TLs, Maphorisa thanked Swizz for his support, and shut down claims gqom was dead.

“You see?! No-one has the ‘perfect song’ or there is no better genre than others. We make music to entertain people. Some will like it, some won’t and that’s perfectly fine and normal! Just find what makes you happy and stop bashing people for liking what you don’t like,” he said.

Not everyone was impressed.

As Babes’ name hit the Twitter trends list, some users claimed it was sad to see SA needing American approval or validation.

Singer Busiswa, who recently featured in Beyoncé’s Black is King visual album, hit back at the claim and told a critic to sit down.

“Not Americans. Grammy-winning, multi-platinum selling pioneer, musician & producer couple who just happen to be American. Stop projecting,” she said.

Andile Ace Ncobo and Senzo MeyiwaFormer top PSL referee Andile “Ace” Ncobo has come to the aid of Senzo Meyiwa‘s daughter, Namhla, financially.

The former PSL general manager said he will pay for the 14-year old Namhla until she turns 21.

This comes after he learnt that Red Farm decided to withdraw its financial commitment to Meyiwa’s daughter.

“Since Red Farm has stopped paying, I have offered to take over,” Ncobo said.“I get goosebumps when I think about Senzo, the man was full of life,”

Ncobo has also challenged other footballers to contribute the same amount.

“I wish to challenge nine other people within the football family to join me, so that the 10 of us jointly make this R15 000.”“Senzo embodied the full spirit of football the most potent weapon and agent for social cohesion.

“It is in the memory of that spirit that his child should never be reminded of his absence by hunger pangs.”

Meyiwa was gunned down on October 26 2014 in Vosloorus while visiting his girlfriend, singer Kelly Khumalo.

Senzo was in the prime of his career at Orlando Pirates and was captain of Bafana Bafana.

Ncobo said he wishes he could do more as the world faces a financial downturn because of Covid-19.

However, he wishes he could have increase the amount but for now he will match what she was receiving from Red Farm.

“It is still sad that the killers have still not been brought to book,” said Ncobo.
