Born-Lungisani Mthethwa, Mr Music was born in KwaMbonambi, Richards Bay in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Reports have it that he was born in 2000. As of 2022, he is 22 years old. Of interest is that he was one of the youngest finalists in the history of the signing competition.

Whilst travelling for a gig slated for Johannesburg, Mr Music was involved in a horrific car accident while travelling from KwaZulu-Natal to Jozi with his brothers. He has it that whilst they were at one of the traffic lights en route to Johannesburg, a drunk truck driver rammed his car at the traffic lights intersection. However, they escaped death through a whisker.
