Check out what two women were doing that is causing stir on social media

There are different cultural beliefs in South Africa and different ethnic groups have their way of doing things. In South Africa, the major set of ethnic groups are the Zulu people, the Venda and the Xhosa tribe. The three have unique ways of celebrating their marriages, burials and other occasions. Many people have been caught outside such ceremonial rites in private places performing rituals. This is when the problem comes in. They engage in things that are satanic and capable of causing harm to other citizens of the country.

A post which has caused different reasons on social media was about two women who were caught performing some rituals with their eyes covered with black cloth. There are speculations that both of them might have planned to do something satanic because their eyes were covered with black clothes.

Contrary to people’s expectations and reactions, the two women are Xhosa women who are performing their marriage rites. They said that what they were doing is a rite of passage done by the Xhosa culture. Some families do it, some don’t. This female initiation process requires one to sit behind a grass mat in a house for 21 days. During the process of the rites, those involved are not expected to go outside except when they want to burn the grass they will use to finalize it. Below are some reactions.
