Heartbreaking! The Secret of How Zola 7 Lost His Fame and Riches

The country as a whole cannot sit down and deny that Zola 7 isn’t the biggest thing to ever come out of the country. He was the only face and voice for South Africa Kasi’s and townships. He was a Hero to those who wanted to become more of themselves and achieve things they only dreamt of. From the dirty streets of eZola, he made his way up by writing what he felt and singing it to the world.

He was a therapist to the nation with songs like “Don’t Cry” that help people through their worst days and “Stars” that just showed how humane and humble he was. There was nowhere in the black informal communities that you would find him not known. He was the face of hope when he made the show Zola 7 that made people achieve their dreams, but then all of a sudden, he disappeared from the screens, lost everything and the country did not understand why.

He became a public menace to the entertainment industry, he never got gigs or was cast in shows, it was as if he had done something some something so terrible that he got blacklisted from his own fame. It is true that he had done something, the Kasi superhero had his real life catch up with his show life. He was presented on TV as some kind of Saint and angel that South Africans forgot he was human too.

The reason he was cancelled was because he was a womaniser, according to the papers, he was changing women, leaving them with kids and not supporting any of them. This classes with his public image as in his show Zola 7 condemned such behaviour. He continued to become an abuser. Many women who were involved with him came out to tell South African newspapers that he was beating them up and treating them like trash.

At the time, SABC had monopolized the entertainment industry and as soon as they decided they didn’t want to be associated with his brand. They cancelled out his music, his shows and gigs. He no longer made the money that he used to. The country stopped hearing about him as it was the time of no internet and TV and Radio were the only outlets where South Africans could hear someone.

Over the years, the rapper faded into the background and new talent came out and shined. His name was still held dear by the people of the townships and Kasi’s. Those were the only ones keeping him alive in the streets of South Africa. His fall out became one of the biggest in the country, and he never quite recovered from it. He is now considered a legend but everyone forgets how his career was cut short for doing what most people did. At the end of the day, he was nothing but a man.

What is your take on the matter? Do you think the entertainment industry was fair i the way it handled the whole saga? Did he even deserve to lose it all?
