Maphorisa Announces Mas Musiq’s Album Release Issa hit already!

You can already feel that the impending festive season is going to be on fire, with the lockdown hopefully being declared over, South Africans are going to be out in full force having the time of their lives. A lot of artists are already busy making hit songs that will be the festive anthem and we are sure Amapiano will be leading the pack in the party music space.
Thabo Ngubane, or popularly known as Mas Musiq has had a fantastic career in the past year, claiming some of the biggest Amapiano tracks of the year 2019. Songs such as “Indaba ka Bani”, and the recent track “eMcimbini” from the Scorpion Kings Live release.

DJ Maphorisa has been nothing short of grooming and supporting his fellow music producers, which is why the music genre has gained so many followers and seen so many songs released in such a short space of time.

His first release, Mambisa, saw the rise of Mas Musiq and his music style of production really came into form. The number of hits on that first release earned him a great deal of respect amongst Amapiano lovers and set his production skills apart from the rest, some even noted that his music is a refined version of the YANOs. With similar beats and chords as the original Amapiano, his production delivers a more minimalistic but full-bodied sound.

When Mas Musiq signed to BlaQ Boy Music, he came in with no experience of the mainstream culture but managed to make an impact with his own style of music regardless and gain the respect of many music lovers. The release of Mambisa II has proven that he isn’t a one-hit-wonder, instead, his career is on the up. There are already a number of bangers on his latest release and we expect them to be firm favourites this festive season.

Just the features on the album tracklist are already making fans crazy and some fans already have firm favourites that they can’t stop listening to.

AKA responds to Cassper’s diss claiming he punches like Connie Ferguson

There is never a dull moment between Mzansi’s multi-award-winning artists and sworn enemies Casssper Nyovest and AKA. The two have been beefing for the longest time now and you know the saying, “Don’t fight fire with fire”? Well, it seems to these artists this a thing of the past, as they are constantly dragging each other on the social media streets.

On several occasions, tweeps have had to bring out fire extinguishers as things are usually very tense between the rappers when they exchange tweets.

Cassper recently had an interview with Slikour on Onlife Radio, and of course, he had more to say about AKA. The rapper said he has been training very hard to defeat AKA. The rappers recently decided that they will get into the boxing ring and settle their beef.

The pair have been beefing for so several years now and their feud dates back to 2014 when Cassper said his song Doc Shebeleza was the biggest song in the South African hip hop industry.

AKA then went to release his hit song Congratulate which dominated the airwaves and shaded Cassper about his then biggest song in the country and they have since been one of Mzansi’s showbiz famous rivalries.

The rappers have been both working hard for their highly anticipated match which has not been confirmed yet. Cassper said he is definitely game for it and said he has been preparing for it.

When Slikour told him that AKA has also been posting videos of him at the gym Cassper dissed him and said he is not even boxing and said he punches like Connie Ferguson.

“That’s not even boxing bro, that’s like Connie Ferguson does that stuff… I’m really gonna hurt him,” he said.

AKA caught wind of a tweet by a Twitter user who said Cassper shaded him on the interview and AKA retaliated by saying Connie would kick his as*, “That’s funny …. because Connie Ferguson would kick his as*.”

Cassper recently said he hates him and said he is the only one in the industry who can confront him

“You’ll never see anyone in the industry confront him because they’re scared and I think I’m the only one who can tell him you know what, you’re not who you think you are, you’re a small boy.”

In an interview recently with Somizi. The foodie and reality show star joked and said in 20 years Cassper will do an album with AKA, responding to him the rapper said that would never happen but he wants to knock him out

“Nah that is never gonna happen, when it comes to AKA I know him, he was my friend me and him could never be buddies and if I cant gel with you from that level then I can’t make music with you, I see myself getting in the ring and knocking him out.”

Kay Sibiya To Join Generations: The Legacy He will reportedly play Jack Mabaso’s younger brother

Uzalo break out star Kay Sibiya is set to join SABC 1’s Generations: The Legacy and it’s speculated that he will play the villain Jack Mabaso’s younger brother. He also made an appearance on The Queen in 2017 and played the role of Kwanele.

According to iHarare Kay Sibiya will be joining the cast however it is unclear for how long he will be playing his role, as he will only be joining on the festive season.

Jack Mabaso, played by Vusi Kunene is one of television’s top villains. Those villains who refuse to die or get defeated. Jack always comes out on top, giving him more power after every single victory.

With Kay Sibiya as his younger brother, we hopeful that the role will allow him to flex is talent and take on different character, different to the one he was or still is well-known for on Uzalo as Ayanda Mdletshe.

He was the main character on Uzalo along with Nay Maps who played Mxolisi Xulu, because the whole storyline centred around the both of them. They were switched at birth and it was only found out years later that they were actually raised by the wrong family.

He went on to pursue other roles after leaving the telenovela and appeared on Mzansi Magic’s The Queen, before landing a gig with American streaming platform Netflix, playing on the football series Agent.

The 13-part series, Agent tells the story of Blaze, a former professional football player whose career ended prematurely after an injury. Blaze turns into a football agent who is passionate about his client.

It was then picked up by SABC 1 and in a statement, the SABC said: ” Agent explores the kind of wheeling and dealing that goes on in the modern game, how sociopathic rival agents, megalomaniac club owners, scheming professional football players and their gold-digging football wags, compromised club managers, and duplicitous witch-doctors, shamelessly hustle and negotiate inside the corridors of world football power”.

In other interesting casting news The River has added three characters that will be keeping Lindiwe on her toes.

Seputla Sebogodi, Mnqobi Yazo and Segomotso Modise are the new kids on the block, taking on character who are out to seek vengeance on Queen Lindiwe!

Nandi Madida On Her Husband: “I Love That Guy”

The talented and gorgeous Nandi Madida was the latest guest on Mac G’s popular podcast, Podcast and Chill. She touched on everything including how blessed she is to have achieved all that she has achieved this year during a pandemic. From meeting Beyoncé and featuring on her Black Is King project, to her interactions with famous American celebrities and lastly her relationship with her husband, Zakes Bantwini.

The ‘Say you will’ hitmaker also touched on the marriage contract and the Amaru legal lawsuit. She reiterated that she has no desires about talking about her private life to a certain extent.

Madida revealed that she never wanted to date industry people because they would have been insecure. She revealed that she only dated 2 guys before meeting her husband and that her last ex was a chartered accountant.Nandi and Mac G agreed in unison that Nandi scored the jackpot when she met Zakes Bantwini saying he is a very cool guy. Mac G pointed out that men in the industry are full of “sh**t” and that Zakes is one of the few good industry men left.

Nandi then said Zakes asked for her number then she responded by saying ‘No’ because of the Joburg culture which has chancers. But a mutual friend encouraged her to give him her number but because she wanted to work with him since the beginning of her career, she gave it to him.She said it took a while before they dated and they started off as friends. Nandi added that he came to her life at the right time and showed her the ropes.

Nandi realised that he was the one when she found out how caring he is. The two joked around when Nandi revealed Zakes wasn’t her first sexual partner but he was her best.

The Black Is King actress then spoke about the much talked about marriage contract change. She said that she has dreams and aspirations out side the country and if they had to travel, she doesn’t want to continuously consult Zakes all the time.

Rowlene To Drop Her New Album Expect nothing but good music

South African singer and songwriter Rowlene, has been working tirelessly hard to bless her legion of fans with great music and she will stop at nothing.

The label is owned by multi-award winning rapper Nasty C. The 23-year-old sultry artist from Cape Town is claiming her spot in the music scene with her unmatched vocal prowess, distinct tone, and fearless persona.Image Cred: Provided
Rowlene has been building her craft and climbing the charts by collaborating with various noteworthy names. The musician is no stranger to singing growing up Rowlene had a liking for music and she has since become a household name with her catchy vocals.

Now she makes a calculated step with the release of her album that is primed to shake up the industry.

Rowlene hails from Elsies River, Cape Town, she is the middle child and only girl in the family. The musician attended Valhalla Primary School and JE Klopper Primary School where she sang soprano in the school choir.

On a trip to Johannesburg, Rowlene met Nasty C, and they began collaborating which led to the 2016 hit “Phases” and the multi-platinum hit “SMA.” More collaborations and features followed with “Amen (A.Reece), “Dance With You” Riky Rick, “Runaway” Gemini Major and Note to self” Tellaman. Nasty C singed Rowlene to his Tall Racks Records.The singer rose to fame after she released her single Imposter in 2016 and it got her some huge recognition The Tall Racks Records signee says her new single has been receiving rave reviews from her fans.

“The reactions from my fans are really good, they have been making cute videos of the single and it is great to see them excited about my latest work.” “Stop” is about understanding one’s purpose and role and how indispensable you may be,” Rowlene shares.

The singer uses a cellphone charger as a metaphor for reference.

The RnB artist is set to drop her new album soon and it is titled 11:11.

“My album is based on the expression of myself and who I am, fans can expect some really dope music from track one to the last track because I collaborated with great artists.”
Rowlene says she started working on the album last year and she felt it was fitting to release it this year. The musician says she is definitely owning her throne with this album.

“I have always been working on good music and I had a lot of songs that I had to cut down, this year was a great opportunity for me since also we are on lockdown so I had so much time to plan for its release,” she explains.

“I feel the music should speak for itself, comments Rowlene. “It’s been a long time coming and we are finally here. I wanted my album to be a compilation of a playlist that I could listen to as well as the next person and so the process to curate the songs was meticulous and diligent.”

The musician has solidified herself as one of South Africa’s most popular women in RnB and she says her entire experience in the music industry has been a roller-coaster ride.

“It has been a rollercoaster, there are bad times and good times I have learned a lot and I have grown a lot which is really amazing”

The musician has collaborated with Nasty on numerous projects and she says working with him is nothing short of amazing.

“It is really dope, he is really professional and he is a genius.”
