DJ Zinhle’s Social Media Backlash: The Complications of Co-Parenting

DJ Zinhle’s Social Media Backlash: The Complications of Co-Parenting

South African DJ and businesswoman, DJ Zinhle, is currently celebrating the 11th anniversary of her brand, erabydjzinhle, and came under fire on social media for mentioning her ex-partner and baby daddy, AKA, in an Instagram story. Zinhle has been co-parenting with AKA for years, and it seems that this situation has caused her some trouble on social media.

After sharing a post celebrating her 11-year business anniversary, Zinhle mentioned AKA in the same post, saying that she has known him for 11 years as well. This sparked a reaction from her followers, who felt that it was inappropriate for her to mention her ex-partner in this context, especially given the recent events surrounding his death.

Many social media users felt that Zinhle’s post was disrespectful to her current partner, Murdah Bongz, whom she married in 2021. Some even compared Zinhle’s behavior to that of Jada Pinkett Smith and her husband, Will Smith, suggesting that Zinhle is emulating Jada’s actions of publicly discussing her past relationships.

DJ Zinhle’s Social Media Backlash: The Complications of Co-Parenting
The backlash against Zinhle highlights the complicated nature of co-parenting and blended families, particularly in the public eye. It is not uncommon for individuals to maintain relationships with their ex-partners when they have children together, and this can often lead to tensions within new relationships.

In Zinhle’s case, her public profile means that her personal life is under constant scrutiny, making it difficult to balance her roles as a mother, businesswoman, and partner. Although some social media users criticized her for mentioning AKA in her post, others came to her defense, suggesting that she has a right to celebrate her business anniversary and that her relationship with AKA is a part of her personal history.

The social media backlash against Zinhle is also indicative of the ways in which society continues to judge women for their choices, particularly when it comes to motherhood and relationships. Women are often criticized for putting their careers before their families or for staying in relationships that are not working for the sake of their children.

Zinhle’s situation highlights the complexities of navigating these expectations, as she balances her career, her role as a mother, and her past relationship with AKA. It is important to recognize that co-parenting can be challenging, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to managing these Zinhle’s situation is a reminder that individuals should be able to celebrate their achievements without fear of judgment or scrutiny. While social media provides a platform for people to express their opinions, it is important to remember that everyone has their own unique story, and we should strive to support and uplift one another rather than tearing each other down.

Even if thats the case sisi you can grieve without typing yazi, respect your married self. Remember that man had 3 different women while he was “dating” you to the extent of marrying the late one remember. So please dont bore us. #djzinhle
