Master KG’s label demands license fee from companies & entities that used “Jerusalema” in videos

Master KG’s record label company says using the hit song, Jerusalema now comes with a huge price, especially for companies and Government entities who used the song to advertise and promote their product and service.

The company has called out every brand who’s used the song to pay license fee.

Newzroom Afrika reports that: “Master KG‘s record label company, demands license fees for using the #Jerusalema song in videos, and German government entities are on the list. Also at fault are companies that used the dance challenge to advertise their own products and services.”

South Africans go frenzy upon hearing the news, believing the music producer will fetch lots of money from this new rule, as lots of big and international companies used the song.

The brand had sponsored his latest episode of Podcast and Chill (episode 227), which premiered on Monday, 22nd of February.

Meanwhile, the DJ lost a deal with another brand some weeks ago after he got cancelled by some South Africans for making transphobic slurs on his podcast.

Few hours after partnering with the DJ, Studio 88 pulled out over mixed feelings and in relation to the past event that got him cancelled.

“The Studio 88 Group stands firmly against the harmful and offensive commentary and statements made by MacG during one of his recent Podcast and Chill with MacG episodes as same goes against our core values and beliefs as a company group in SA.

“In light of the above, the Studio 88 Group wishes to distance ourselves completely from the aforementioned statements, podcast and its host/s. We have therefore taken the decision to terminate, with immediate effect, any business/sponsorship relationship we may have with MacG.”

Amapiano have made huge wave as it bagged all through 2020 and this new year.Taking to Twitter, the duo shared that Amapiano is making waves in the music industry on all platforms most especially itunes, Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube.

Major League mentioned that they wonder when brands and companies will start putting money into it.

They said: “Amapiano is doing crazy numbers across all plateforms… itunes, Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube…the works.. I wonder when brands will start putting money into this genre/ culture.. the sound is out of this world and it’s about to be the biggest sound to come out of AFRICA.”

The twins concluded by saying they feel Amapiano needs more partnerships and sponsors so it can be the biggest sound in the Africa and the world at large.

Nomzamo Mbatha is on the highly anticipated movie, Coming 2 America, and she’s detailed her experience working with America’s big actors.

The movie is set to premiere on the 5th of March, 2021, and the SA star plays the role of Mirembe.

Speaking with Daily Sun, she revealed her reaction to being picked after auditioning for the role.

“It was good to finally get that big yes because the move to America was not an easy one. Going to auditions and trying to make this dream come together was also hard.”

Nom explained the character, and how she was able to have fun while nailing the role.

“She’s a traditional woman but also very unconventional as most women of her family work as maid in the palace while she’s a barber. But while I was having fun, I had to make sure I portrayed the character in truthful way and I had to find her rhythm and essence.”

Nom says it’s humbling working with the likes of Eddie Murphy.

“Working alongside the likes of Eddie Murphy and Wesley Snipes was such a daunting and humbling experience. I was literally surrounded by Hollywood royalty. I had the most fun working with them. They’re so professional and good at what they do.”

“My journey has been colourful but not always easy. Throughout, I exercised my courage muscle because I had to make a lot of emotional and financial sacrifices to be where I am today.”
