“It’s no secret viewers want me back in Smoke and Mirrors.”
So said actor Zolisa Xaluva after his exit from the e.tv weeknight show.In Smoke and Mirrors, Zolisa played Ceasar, now played by Hlomla Dandala.
“I experience their desire every day, either in person or on social media. Every time I step out I’m faced with a ‘why did you leave/when are you coming back?’ It feels great to know how much impact I had on the show and I’m aware of the appreciation shown by the audience,” he told TshisaLIVE.
“I’m asked to come back every day and my departure from the show was a business/contractual one; it was never personal. I’m a businessman, if business is done right I’m keen to play. I also have a love and appreciation for that audience.”
Zolisa dismissed speculation that he is earmarked to join e.tv’s Isitha.
“The Isitha conversation is a rumour. I have not been in talks with the producers of the show and I know them personally. It’s just a rumour.”
Zolisa said he is moving between Cape Town and Johannesburg shooting Mzansi Magic Code 13 and the third season of Kings of Joburg.
“I’m also joining a Netflix series that had a successful first season. I’m coming in to assist them in the second instalment.”
