You made this life worth living’: Pearl Thusi remembers AKA

Actress and media personality Pearl Thusi has opened up about how she has missed the late Hip hop star AKA.

The multi-award winning was shot dead at point blank outside a restaurant in the eastern part of Durban on 10 February 2023.


 

Six months later, police are yet to make any arrests despite claiming to be making massive progress in investigating the shooting.

Taking to Instagram, Pearl Thusi opened up about her fears and how she has struggled to come to terms with the star’s death. The media personality says she is mourning but ready to move on.

Pearl Thusi posted: “Ready to focus on the happier times now. Losing you cut me deeper than I had realised. Rest easy homie. Miss you. Thank you for the good time and tricky. Can’t turn back the clock. But we can make every second spent with you count.”

She added: “You live freely and honestly even when it made no sense to the rest of us. There’ll never be another like you. You made this life worth living. A masterpiece.”She joins a host of celebrities who have opened up about trying to move on after the star’s death.

AKA’s ex-girlfriend and baby mama DJ Zinhle made it known a few months ago that she was not ready to visit the city where her daughter’s father was killed.

DJ Zinhle pulled out from several shows she was set to headline, including the Cotton Festival and Fact Durban Rocks.

On the other hand, AKA’s parents have often opened up about how life has been without the star. In one of her interviews, Lynn Forbes made it known that she hopes justice will be served one day.

Her then-girlfriend at the time of his death Nadia Nakai often shares her priceless moments with AKA as she continues to mourn the star.
