The Wife viewers are saddened by the unexpected exit of Hlomu played by Mbalehle Mavimbela in the Showmax’s leading telenovela. Just as the show recently announced that it will be making drastic changes on the 3rd season due to viewers’ concerns that the current storyline was not following the book’s storyline Mbali has signed out.According to blogger Phil Mphela, the much loved Mbali has exited the show after successfully playing the role for two seasons.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mbali’s exceptional skills won the hearts of many people from the first episode. Avid viewers of the show recently sang her praises for carrying the show on her back for two seasons.Mbali plays the character of Hlomu, a down to earth girl from KwaZulu-Natal who moves to the City of Gold in hopes of finding a job as a journalist. Upon getting to Johannesburg, she, fortunately, finds more than just a job, but love too. She ends up falling in love with taxi driver Mqhele, a character played by another fan favourite,

Bonko Khoza. The two ended up getting married without realizing that when you marry a man you marry their secrets.It is not clear why Mbali is leaving the show, but social media users are speculating that she has a bun baking in her oven. Hlomu was pregnant during the last reason of the show and it is unclear if fans are speculating from that.“The Wife without Mbali will be a tad strange because she really dazzled in this role. The move could also be temporary, should they get more seasons. If they don’t recast in her absence, I would want to see her return.”

Phil reported again that Hlomu would be replaced following her exit. The blogger asked his fans who would be the best actress to replace her and they weighed in their opinion.Several of his fans suggested that Nomzamo Mbatha will nail the role while other suggested Lungelo Mpangase.

It would be highly impossible for Nomzamo Mbatha to kill two birds with one stone. The international actress is currently working on a big project.

Nomzamo will star in the upcoming iconic drama series Shaka Ilembe and she plays Queen Nandi, the revered mother of Shaka. The actress will also make her producing debut. The actress said she is honoured to be part of this iconic project.
