The day has finally come where Black Coffee has dropped his 7th studio album ‘Subconsciously’ just in time for the weekend. The world renowned DJ has put us in a deep state of nostalgia, where music festivals and concerts were the only places that mattered on weekends.
Leading up to his big release, the DJ teased his fans with new music and it was a sure indicator that the album will be fire. The 12-track-album features distinguished artists from all over the world including, Diplo, Cassie, Pharrell Williams, David Guetta and our national treasure Sun-El Musician and Tellaman.
On Thursday, Black Coffee hyped up his album release, “The road to #Subconsciously comes to an end in less than 24 hours! I can’t wait to share my album with you all tomorrow!” wrote Black Coffee.
Before he released the album, Black Coffee had added nine songs from his album on iTunes and had reached a mind boggling 100 million streams, “More than 100 million streams worldwide already.”
The DJ has been receiving rave reviews for his album, with fans thanking him for helping them get through the lockdown. In other good news, Black Coffee being a philanthropist is probably one of the best things to happen. Last year when the pandemic started, Coffee gave away R500 000 towards COVID-19 relief funds in order to combat the virus.
This year, the DJ has partnered with HyperionDev institution to give out bursaries to the less fortunate students. These students would have their fees fully paid if they pursue a qualification in technology. These bursaries are worth R3.5 million.
In 2014 he also made one student’s dream valid through his DJ Black Coffee Foundation. He paid for the students fees as he or she studied at the School of Audio Engineering for a Higher Certificate in Sound Production qualification.

According to the HyperionDev website they want to make tech education accessible by awarding these bursaries to students who are big dreamers, “This year, we’re making tech education accessible to all. We’re giving away full scholarships to deserving dreamers with big ideas and plans for technology. Over the next few weeks, let us know why you think you deserve a scholarship funded by Black Coffee and many other prominent investors around the world.”
To qualify, all you need to do is record yourself in a 60 second video clip as well a 200 word essay, explaining why you deserve the award.
