Charles Kunutu is one of Skeem Saam’s most prominent characters, having appeared in the educational drama since its inception.

Despite his glowing praise for his wife Salamina, viewers had to wait ten years to meet her.

Masilo Magoro plays actor Charles Kunutu.


 

 

 

In 2013, he landed the role of Charles Kunutu on Skeem Saam, Rachel, and Nimza’s uncle’s mission to find the Maputlas.

He was raised in Tzaneen before moving to Johannesburg with his mother.

Masilo attended Thabo Secondary School in Naledi, Soweto. He then spent three years studying drama at FUBA Academy and a short course with the Market Theatre.

He was furious and nearly died when he discovered that his son, Letetswe, had failed grade 9 and lied about it.

Masilo Magoro is a South African actor best known for his role as Morena Lerole, the father of Baksteen (Innocent Masuku), in the SABC1 drama series Tshisa, in 2012.

He also appeared in the trailer for the musical film 16 Bars as a detective and played the role of Vusi in the Tim Greene film Skeem, both in 2011.

In 2013, he played Charles Kunutu, Rachel’s uncle whose mission is to exact revenge on the Maputla family, in the second half of the second season of the SABC1 drama Skeem Saam.

His primary school years were spent in Lenyenye, Tzaneen, with my two older brothers and his mother, who worked as a nurse for Dr Mamphela Ramphele. They then relocated to Johannesburg to be with his father.
