South African enterteinment industry was dealt a huge blow after the news of Shona Ferguson’s death were made public. Shona died after he was admitted to a private hospital in Johannesburg where he had a heart surgery.
Born Arthur Aaron Ferguson in Botswana, he became known as Shona Ferguson in the enterteinment industry. He was born on April 30, 1974, and died at the age of 47 at Millpark Private Hospital. In the enterteinment industry Shona wasn’t only an actor, but he was also a director and a producer as well as on the bussiness side of ebterteinment.
Together with his wife Connie they started Ferguson Films, a tv productions company. The company has produced known productions including The Queen, The River, The Imposter, Igazi, The Throne, Rockville and The Gift. The six part Netflix series of 2020 Igazi is also the work of the company.
Shona received the Golden Horn Award for Best Actor in a TV Soap and Golden Horn Award for Best Achievement by a Lead Actor in a Made for TV Movie.
Shona and Connie met in 2001 by chance. He was dropping a mutual friend at Connie’s home to meet her sister. Before leaving, Shona asked for water from Connie’s sister. Connie came out to greet them, and according to Shona it was love at first sight. Back then, Connie was already a household name Mzansi’s small screen.
Two months later the two tied the knot in a traditional wedding. It was shortly followed by a white wedding which graced many magazine covers in December of 2001.
The couple have one child, a beautiful daughter named Alicia Angel. Alicia was born in June 2002.

While the actor was born in Gaberone, Botswana, his taste of enterteinment life came in 1992 when he became a club Dj at the Palace Hotel Night Club in Lesotho. But upon returning home to Botswana, he focused on corporate world, which saw him ending up with an IT business.
