She’s 21 He’s 60 What’s Your Thoughts…

“It didn’t hit me that he was actually 23, even after I found out,” Hamilton says. “It was not computing. Nothing about him seems 23 to me. He was so mature and such an old soul and has a lot of wisdom.”

Pierce said he knew Hamilton was “Julia’s mom,” so he started doing the math. “She’s gotta be at least 36, right?” he recalls. “And I’m looking at her: … She looks like she’s 25.”

Both couples offered this common refrain: Age is just a number.

“Neither one of us can help what decade we were born in,” Hamilton says.

Bill Hutchinson, right, toasts the new Virgin Hotel’s ground breaking in Dallas. He’s told he looks like Richard Branson, second from right. Hutchinson says of Branson, “He looks like a middle-aged hippie, and I sorta do, too. I’m in awe of his business acumen and his success.”(2016 / DMN file photo)
Hutchinson admits it’s tough to explain the 40-year age gap. “It was definitely a topic at first,” he says. Making matters more complicated, “Bri looks very young for her age,” he says, “so even though she’s 21, she looks quite young.” Ramirez looks after Hutchinson’s two younger children but is younger herself than Hutchinson’s three older kids.

The couple admits that “people definitely brought it up” — the age thing. And in Marrying Millions, viewers will likely see friends, family and coworkers trying to figure out what drew them together, despite being four decades apart.

There’s a height gap, too, as Hutchinson is 6-foot-5 and Ramirez is 5-foot-2.

Despite Hutchinson becoming a new grandfather, he says he feels like a teenager.

“I don’t feel like a grandfather and I don’t even like being called a grandfather,” he says. (He’s asked his grandson to call him Big Bill instead of Grandpa.) “I don’t want to fit that role for a long time.”

Hutchinson and his family members have already filmed a reality show called Hanging with the Hutchinsons, but it never aired. Bill Hutchinson says his daughters didn’t like the way they were portrayed. Hutchinson says he said “no” to Marrying Millions several times before he and Ramirez changed their minds — but that getting back in front of the camera felt natural.

“We never really seek it out, but people come to us because we live large. We’re a beautiful, extended family,” he says. “People are intrigued by us because we aren’t normal. … I have long hair, I look like a hippie, but I’m doing business in Highland Park.”
