Born in 1939 Lydia Mokgokoloshi is a South African actress, best known for her role as Koko Mantsha who is the mother of Charity Ramabo and grandma of Katlego(kat) and Joseph(jojo) in the SABC 1 soap, “Skeem Saam.

Koko Mantsha has been in this industry for a very long time. Her most notable role was as Mma Kwesheng in the 1980s drama, Bophelo ke Semphekgo.

The 81 year old Koko Mantsha has been on Skeem Saam since 2011. It is said that Lydia has left the left and that she will still be in and out of the story but she just won’t be shooting as much as she used to,as sometimes SkeemSaam shooting schedule gets really hectic at times and they don’t want to wear her out.

In a bid to move her to the reccuring role, Koko has since moved away from Turfloop in Limpopo which is where Skeem Saam is based. Koko left under the Show that she was going home to spend quality time with her brother Josias. The fans are definitely sad to see her go.

Despite being relieved from full-time acting, Koko Mantsha takes home a salary of about R35,000 per month. Veteran actors such as Harriet Manamela aka Meikie, Africa Tsoai aka John Maputla and Dieketseng Mnisi aka MaNtuli are said to be taking home a salary of about R30,000 to R35,000 per month.
