Rape Charges Against DJ Fresh and Euphonik Dropped The evidence was insufficient

DJ Fresh and Euphonik have been trending for the wrong reasons lately after rape allegations were leveled against them, but now the duo can finally breathe a sigh of relief as the charges have been dismissed.
In a joined statement released on social media, the DJ’s confirmed that the charges were dropped due to insufficient evidence “We are pleased to state that, after considering all the evidence collected while investigating the claim made by Ms. Madikizela against us, the Chief Prosecutor has dismissed the allegation on the basis that the allegations are without merit,” reads the statement.The DJs said in light of the Gender-Based Violence pandemic, they are shook that GBV was weaponized in this manner. The duo maintained that the allegations are false.

“The docket has been marked nolle prosequi. As we’ve said before these are false allegations and we are deeply saddened that GBV, a serious crisis in South Africa, was weaponized in this manner. “The DJs thanked everyone who rallied behind them amidst all the drama, “A huge thank you to all of our family, friends, supporters, and to our legal team.”

Fresh and Euphonik were recently given the boot at 94.7. Dj Fresh said he could find “no common ground” with his former employer.
10 February 2021, Johannesburg – Primedia Broadcasting can confirm that, after careful consideration of the events of the last few weeks, the company has decided to release DJ Fresh and Euphonik from their contracts. Their last shows on 947 were aired on 15th January and 10th January 2021 respectively.

“This decision does not reflect a view on the veracity of any allegations against either Euphonik or Fresh. Rather it prioritises Primedia Broadcasting’s business imperatives. We believe that this decision is in the best interest of our company and our various stakeholders,” says Geraint Crwys-Williams, Interim CEO of Primedia Broadcasting.The DJs were accused of sexual assault and drugging, a woman and three other women. The woman laid charges against them at the Sunnyside Police Station. She recently took to Twitter to accuse the South African Police Service officers of foul play as they have leaked her statement to the media. This follows after Sunday World detailed the alleged rape incident in an article recently.
