Dj Zinhle revealed that she’s removing her children, Kairo Forbes and Asante Mohosana, from social media

Mother-of-two DJ Zinhle’s life and decisions have come under scrutiny many times on social media. Sometimes, to a point where she has had to clear the air or defend herself. The businesswoman’s eight-year-old daughter, Kairo Forbes – whom she shares with slain rapper AKA – has also unfortunately become a victim of social media critics, especially on X (formerly Twitter). This is why, Zinhle and her family are gradually taking her two daughters (Kairo and Asante) off social media – she told Sunday World.

“We believe Kiernan has been trying to communicate with us, and we are gradually taking the kids off social media.

“The ideal situation for me would be to take them off completely,” she said.During the first episode of DJ Zinhle: The Unexpected season three, which aired on BET Africa on Saturday, 30 September, the topic was discussed.

Zinhle was spending quality time with Kairo’s grandmother, Lynn Forbes, who reminded her about a dream she had wherein AKA said that they need to limit his daughter’s social media presence.“But you know Kiernan was never really keen for Kairo being on social media. So every time I think about this dream I realise how clear that dream was. It was really a visit, it wasn’t just a dream.

“Towards the end he said ‘mom, I really want you to just limit’, he didn’t say take it away, he said limit the time that you expose her on social media and even in public,” Lynn said.

AKA, real name Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, was shot and killed outside a Durban restaurant on 10 February this year.LYNN HITS BACK AT CRITICS
Following a recent social media “hoo-ha” involving Kairo, Lynn ended her hiatus from X in a bid to set the record straight.

This followed Kairo’s tribute to her late father on the Galaxy 947 Joburg Day stage on 2 September, which was marred with nasty attacks from X critics who claimed the family was “exploiting” the eight-year-old.

Hitting back at the critics, Lynn said: “Kairo didn’t say, ‘I WANT to perform at Joburg Day.’ She said, ‘I’m GOING TO perform at Joburg Day. I don’t want anyone to go on stage with me. I’m going to sing my daddy’s song, by myself’.

“It sat well with her, She cried. She is very proud of herself. No one forced her.”

Musa Mseleku sobs for wife No 5

In the latest episode of “Uthando Nes’thembu”, Musa Mseleku made a surprising announcement to his wives, MaCele, MaYeni, MaKhumalo, and MaNgwabe. He revealed that he had a girlfriend but would not be marrying her, effectively giving up on his pursuit of a fifth wife. The episode began with Mseleku sharing the news with his first wife, MaCele, explaining that he could not force his wives to agree with his decisions.MaCele responded with understanding, reminding him that it was not a sin to admit defeat. Mseleku, in a diary session, expressed his concern about being defeated by the women he brought into his home. He emphasized his feelings of powerlessness as a man and requested that MaCele not oppose his decisions when he announces them, as he felt powerless in the face of his wives’ objections.

Mseleku’s emotional struggle was evident as he confessed to feeling like he had let down MaCele, who had always supported his decisions regarding new wives. MaCele, left in tears after his departure, lamented the lack of support from the other wives, who were hindering what her husband wanted. In the world of mobile technology, few names are as iconic as Nokia. For years, this Finnish giant dominated the mobile phone industry, setting the standard for durability and reliability. However, the rise of smartphones and the dominance of companies like Apple and Samsung pushed Nokia into the background. Now, Nokia is making a comeback, and there are some exciting developments to report.

When are the 2023 SAFTAs taking place?
The competition is fierce, with kykNET taking the lead with an impressive 63 nominations, closely followed by Netflix SA with an impressive 55 nods.

The SAFTAs will once again captivate audiences with its glitzy award ceremonies.

The technical awards will kick off the festivities, streaming live on the SAFTAs YouTube channel on Friday, 29 September 2023, followed by a rebroadcast on SABC channels. The main event, the SAFTAs awards ceremony, will take place on Saturday, 30 September 2023.

Viewers can catch the excitement live on Mzansi Magic (DStv 161) and SABC 3 at 19:00.

This year’s SAFTAs carry the resonant theme of “Our stories flow together,” celebrating the rich tapestry of narratives that make up the South African film and television landscape.

The theme emphasises unity, diversity, and the power of storytelling to bridge gaps and connect communities.

Were Ferguson Films productions snubbed?
The 17th SAFTAs witness the return of Word of Mouth Pictures’ Muvhango on SABC 2 and Stained Glass TV’s Durban Gen on e.tv after last year’s hiatus.

However, the awards continue to lack representation from Ferguson Films productions, such as The Queen on Mzansi Magic.

Certain productions, like the cancelled SABC 2 soap 7de Laan, faced financial constraints that prevented their entry into the SAFTAs.

While the absence of some beloved shows may be felt, the awards remain a platform to highlight the outstanding achievements of those who are participating.
