Menzi Ngubane’s wife Sikelelwa remembers him 3 years after his passing

Sikelelwa Ngubane, of Showmax’s popular reality series Widows Unveiled, has remembered her husband, Mzansi star Menzi Ngubane through a heartfelt tribute on social media.

Menzi fought health problems for several years, and before his passing, he got a kidney transplant. On March 13, 2021, the actor who had won a Safta award passed away at the age of 56 from a stroke.He suffered a professional blow in 2014 when he was let go from “Generations” along with fifteen other cast members after a pay disagreement. This incident happened in the same year that he had a kidney transplant, which added to his health issues.

 

 

 

 

 

He would later make memorable appearances on productions like “Ashes to Ashes”, “Gold Diggers” and “Isibaya”. Dr Phakeng on life post-UCT and forthcoming book

More than a year ago, Dr. Phakeng stepped down from her position as vice chancellor of the University of Cape Town after reaching a R12 million settlement with the institution due to a ‘governance crisis. Recently, she sat down with My Top 10 at 10 to discuss her life post-UCT and a “tell-all” book she’s currently working on.

During the interview, Dr. Phakeng opened up about the personal challenges she faced while at odds with the university.

 

 
She shared that she had experienced a range of difficulties outside the university, including undergoing a suicide evaluation, being diagnosed with a functional neurological disorder, and regularly seeing a team of neurologists, psychiatrists, and physicians since 2020.

In addition to this, Dr. Phakeng revealed that her son had been diagnosed with cancer.

She also opened up about her new 9-5 and looking after her money.

“God works in mysterious ways. I never imagined becoming the multimillionaire I am today. I opted for a 9-to-5 job and focused on consulting. I haven’t touched the funds. If you’re anticipating ‘I Blew It,’ you’ll have to wait longer,” said Phakeng in part.
