The former Real Housewives of Durban reality TV star Ayanda Ncwane, who took over Sifiso’s record label has reportedly been struggling to keep his business afloat, as Ncwane Communications has been owing SARS R2 million since 2020, according to City Press.


 

 

 

“It is also understood that despite numerous reminders to her of the debt, the bill was never settled.”

The publication adds that she removed herself from the sole directorship of the company in March 2021 and added her younger brother Phupho Nkosiyazi Gumede, as its sole director instead.

The businesswoman remains CEO of the company and also renders services such as events coordination, public relations, and marketing.

SARS reportedly gave her 10 business days in April 2022 to settle the R2 181 060 amount.

“According to the records of the SA Revenue Service, you have failed to pay your tax debt for one or more tax years and/or tax periods. You are requested to make full payment within 10 business days from the date of this letter of demand”, read the letter.

“You may within 10 business days from the date of this letter of apply for any of the following remedies … compromise of a portion of the tax, where this will provide a higher return to the fiscus than liquidation, sequestration, or other collection measures,” the letter from the receiver read.

According to City Press, Sifisi Ncwane’s company Ncwane Communications, which reportedly owes SARS over R2 million and where Ayanda is allegedly still CEO is in the process of deregistration from CIPC records.

Ayanda’s brother Phupho Nkosiyazi Gumede is known in the entertainment industry as her stylist and was crowned the Africa Choice Awards fashion stylist of the year in 2021.

Gumede was allegedly also responsible for styling cast members of Netflix’s reality TV show Young, Famous and African.

Ayanda is reportedly living in Dainfern, northern Johannesburg, and owns a Range Rover Sport, a Mercedes-Benz, and a Ferrari.

Ayanda Ncwane was not available for a comment when she was contacted.

Domestic worker’s daughter achieves clean sweep of matric distinctions

Ziphelele Nkunka, the 18-year-old daughter of a domestic worker, it is about more than personal success as she hopes her stellar results will inspire her peers to excel despite their circumstances.

Ziphelele was welcomed home as a hero at the weekend where the proud community celebrated her award at the provincial top achievers gala event in East London after years of hard work at her alma mater.


 

The aspiring chartered accountant intends to further her studies at the University of Johannesburg.

She is still in disbelief at her achievement.

“I liked to believe I was academically inclined and as I grew older I put in the effort and the results encouraged me to do more,” she said.

“I am still very excited and in disbelief. I had to punch myself on Saturday because I couldn’t believe my dream of attending the provincial awards had come true.”

The youngest of four siblings said the support she had received from family, friends and school had contributed immensely to her success.

“The community is so proud, because they played an integral role in my achievement,” she said.

“I had great support from my teachers who were always just a WhatsApp message away. There are still people here today [Sunday afternoon] who have come to congratulate me personally.”

The Veeplaas resident has for several years assisted younger pupils with tutoring and homework classes outside school hours.

Many passed this year thanks to her assistance.

“Teaching these pupils also benefited me, in constantly revising and practising the concepts involved in the subjects.”

Ziphelele managed to achieve seven distinctions in isiXhosa home language (90.7%), English (86.7%), business studies (98%), economics (94.3%), mathematical literacy (88%), accounting (85.7%) and life orientation (89%).
