The holiday season just got a whole lot festive with the news of South African rap heavyweights Nasty C and Cassper Nyovest dropping their first-ever joint album aptly titled ‘Thick and Thin’. It’s safe to say the world is excited as this news comes hot off the heels of their successful “African Throne” tour, which took them to several African countries, including Nigeria, Tanzania and Botswana.
The two rappers made the big announcement during an exclusive interview on South African rapper L-Tido’s podcast, where they revealed a deluxe version of their collaboration project.
WHAT ELSE HAVE THEY GOT UP THEIR SLEEVES?
While a release date for “Thick and Thin” remains tightly under wraps, the duo hinted at additional joint tracks already brewing. This project signifies a major milestone, not only marking the first official album collaboration between these two rap titans but also paving the way for bigger progress in the international scene.

But it’s not just the album that has fans buzzing. This collaboration marks a new era for both artists, not just domestically but globally. Having already kicked off the second leg of their “African Throne” tour this year, Nasty C and Cassper Nyovest have set their sights on the international stage in 2024, poised to take their unique blend of African hip-hop to the world.
WHAT ARE FANS SAYING?
The announcement has unsurprisingly sent fans into a flurry of excitement. Many have expressed their excitement on social media, with one fan suitably stating, “About damn time…Cass was patient. Nasty was patient. ABOUT DAMN TIME.”
Their bond, which only seems to get stronger over the years, got fans remarking on their bromance, saying, “Casper and Nasty’s chemistry is unmatched. They get along so good.” And they’re not wrong to say this; after all, they go as far back as 2015 when Nasty C released his breakout single, ‘Juice Back’, featuring Cassper Nyovest and Nigerian artist, Davido.
With the prospect of a joint album and a global tour on the horizon, 2024 is already shaping up to be a monumental year for Nasty C and Cassper Nyovest.
