Lebo M’s reality show halted as tension with Carol Bouwer rises

Lion King composer and Grammy-Award-winning producer Lebohang Morake, best known as Lebo M, and Carol Bouwer, whose company Carol Bouwer Productions produces Lebo M’s reality show in partnership with Primedia were said to be at loggerheads; as a result, the reality TV show has now been delayed and the possibilities for it to premiere are slim, ZiMoja reported.

It was said that the pre-production money was allegedly misused and nobody was fessing up and taking responsibility which is what has fuelled the tension between the two. A source speaking to the publication was said to have disclosed that Primedia had allocated an R11 million budget set for pre-production, however, Bouwer only gave Lebo M a small portion of the money.Earlier this year, Lebo M made headlines and was said to have once again tied the knot. He secretly got married to a woman known as Pretty Samuels, Sunday World reported. They reportedly said their vows in front of a magistrate and a few witnesses. Lebo M was said to have previously been married to Ngani-Casara who was reported to have appeared in his 10-part reality TV show Lebo M -Coming Home.

Meanwhile, previously, because Bouwer is one of the three directors of Venalor NPC, she was linked to the National Lotteries Commission scandal, News24 reported. The company reportedly managed to score a total of R7 million in Lottery funding between 2018 and 2020. Venalor was said to have registered in 2012 as a non-profit company. However, even by 2020, the company was said not to have had a website, any online activity or any social media accounts in their name which raised eyebrows as it was unclear what they did.
