Jessica Nkosi is taking time off to focus on growing her personal brand.

Taking a breather from Mzansi’s TV scene, Jessica Nkosi is diving into family life and honing her personal brand. After welcoming her second child in 2023 with hubby Ntokozo ‘TK’ Dlamini, she’s hitting pause on productions, teasing a possible comeback next year.

SHE BAGGED A NEW BRAND PARTNERSHIP
During this downtime, Nkosi isn’t just chilling – she’s busy boosting her personal brand. The latest gig? Bayer South Africa’s Consumer Health division crowns her ambassador for Bepanthen® Derma products.

Nkosi is known for her commitment to lasting partnerships. She even emphasises her love for sticking with brands for the long haul.

“For every brand that I work with I’m an ambassador of. I don’t do monthly partnerships; I look for longevity, and I sign long contracts,” Nkosi explains to IOL Entertainment.

Off-screen, the Volvo South Africa ambassador keeps it real, teaming up only with brands that vibe with her values. No compromises here – Nkosi insists on authenticity and seeks loyalty and longevity in her partnerships.

“I want longevity, I want loyalty and that to me means more,” explains the actress, who doesn’t mind saying no to deals that do not align with her goals.

“I can’t convince people to believe in something that I don’t believe in the brand myself,” she says.

SHE WANTS SOMETHING DIFFERENT
Even though she’s off the TV radar, Nkosi has big plans for her return. She’s not sticking to the same old roles. Tired of playing the sweet girl or the villain, she’s eyeing fresh challenges – a hobo, a lesbian, you name it. Nkosi wants to push her acting boundaries.

She has played the sweet, innocent girl, Qondi, in the Mzansi Magic telenovela ‘Isibaya.’ She has also been cast as the villain Thando Sebata on ‘The Queen.’ But even after acing those roles to the point that she earned her Outstanding Female Villain award at the Royalty Soapie Awards in 2021, she wants “something different.”

According to her, “I want something different, a hobo, a lesbian. I want to push myself acting-wise.”

So, as we wait for her comeback, we now have a hint of what she’s doing behind the scenes. Her focus is on personal and professional growth, and she’s not just thinking about acting. According to IOL Entertainment, she’s eyeing the production scene too.
