It Is Hard To Believe That The Same Kids From Izulu Lam Have Grown So much Since 2008

Izulu Lami (My Secret Sky), a critically acclaimed and award-winning film from South Africa, has been on the big screen for ten years and three more. The legendary Madoda Ncayiyana directed this wonder, which is still remarkable and unmatched.

Thembi, portrayed by Sobahle Mkhabase, Khwezi, by Sibonelo Malinga, and Chilli-Bite, played by Tshepang Mohlomi, are the three main characters of the movie. In reality, Chilli-Bite was the plot’s antagonist.

Thembi, age ten, and Khwezi, age eight, the protagonists of the novel, finally decide to leave their village and travel to Durban after Khwezi was cruelly handled by their aunt shortly after their mother passed away.

They are looking for a white reverend (he had visited their village and created a craft competition). In order to fulfill their mother’s ambition of competing with a mat she made herself, they want to meet him.

A kind man in his truck offers the two a walk, but once they arrive in Durban, difficulties start to arise.

When they get there, a group of street youths led by Chilli-Bite, a 12-year-old boy, confront them.

The siblings are persuaded by Chilli-Bite that he is connected to someone who knows where the priest resides. Thembi eventually escaped and made her way to Khwezi, as it turns out that Chilli-original Bite’s plan was to sell her to a human trafficking man who thought she could cure his HIV and AIDS.

Thembi becomes enraged when she encounters Chilli Bite after he has sold her to the trafficker and utters the statement that has become synonymous with the film: “Chilli Bite uyinja, ngiyakuzonda,” which translates to “You’re a dog, Chilli Bite, I despise you.”

13 years later, the child actors look like this:

1.Sibonelo Malinga (Khwezi)

He was never again seen on television after his immaculate performance in Izulu Lami. He has now been admitted as an attorney to the South African High Court.

2. Tshepang Mohlomi (Chilli-Bite)

He has appeared in roles on Otelo Burning (2011), Uzalo Season 4 (2018), and At Ellen’s Age since Izulu Lami (2010).

3.Sobahle Mkhabase (Thembi)

She hasn’t been much on television, but she just received her degree, has a child, and is engaged to Katlego Justice Lebina.
