It was just a few years ago when the super talented and verbally gifted radio and TV presenter Dineo Ranaka disclosed her journey into the traditional healing realm,and had Mzansi on it’s toes with that particular revelation. This week saw news of her completing her ‘intwaso’ being shared across social media which sparked a bit of a debate online as to what actually transpired in the media personality’s life that propelled her towards embracing her calling.

 

 

 

In the video shared on Twitter, Dineo could be seen donning her traditional regalia,complete with beads and everything, dancing and chanting some of the traditional songs probably learnt from her ‘gobela’.

With the completion of her training process comes a new name,and she goes by Gogo Somahashe,to mark the beginning of her brand new journey as a sangoma. Taking to Instagram, the legendary radio host posted:”On many occasions they asked and I eventually said YES,Camagu. Thokoza thongo lami.”

Dineo is part of South African entertainment figures who have answered their ancestral callings such as Boity and Letoya Makhene.
