‘Implemented nothing’: Zizi Kodwa put on blast over Mapimpi post

South African Sports, Arts and Culture Minister Zizi Kodwa is once again facing backlash online. The minister, who recently took over from Nathi Mthethwa, appears to have stepped straight into the same firing that Nathi could never escape from.

Social media users have accused him of doing nothing to better the arena for South African artists and sports stars. This after he shared a post wishing Springboks ace a speedy recovery after he was forced to exit the World Cup following an injury.On Monday this week, the news of Springbok Makazole Mapimpi being pulled from the Rugby World Cup made headlines.

The team’s wing suffered a “blowout fracture” to his eye socket after a collision with Tonga’s Augustine Pulu during last weekend’s match.Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Minister Zizi Kodwa shared his well wishes with Mapimpi who has reportedly been replaced by midfielder Lukhanyo Am.


 

 

“I would like to wish Springbok ace Makazole Mapimpi a speedy recovery from his World Cup ending injury. We will always be grateful for your impact on and off the rugby field,” he wrote while tagging Mapimpi and the South African rugby page.Zizi, who has been the minister for this department since March this year, has yet to impress SA with his innovative thinking and brilliance.

Like his predecessor, he faces constant ridicule and online backlash from locals who don’t see enough change in the sports and arts industry.
