The leader of BLF, Andile Mngxitama has taken to Twitter to set the record straight on rumors that he was in court on Wednesday. This comes after several people speculated that the man who was sitting next to the disgraced celebrity doctor in court was him. “It’s not me! I know I like Dr Nandi but it’s not me guys. Lots of people been asking me if its me sitting next to the good Doctor in court. I repeat, it was not me”, Mngxitama said.

People were a bit confused because of the resemblance between Mngxitama and the particular person. The person who was sitting next to Dr Nandipha as she appeared in court on Wednesday is Senohe Matsoara, a G4S warder. Matsoara is the infamous doctor’s co-accused. They were facing a charge of murder, linking them to the body that was found inside a cell at the Mangaung Correctional Centre, following Thabo Bester’s escape. Matsoara is accused of allegedly aiding the audacious escape of convicted murderer and rapist Bester.

Senohe Matsoare was the on-site night duty supervisor the night convicted rapist and murderer Thabo Bester escaped from prison, Parliament’s justice and correctional services portfolio committee has heard.Matsoara was suspended and ultimately fired for failing to follow clear and well-established MCC policies and procedures, adding that he:

1. failed to complete inspection rounds;

2. failed to attend to incidents on time;

3. directed staff to insignificant tasks during the incident;

4. ignored a call to attend to a report of smoke in Broadway Cell 35, where Bester was held; and

5. failed to properly account for his movements and actions on the night of 2/3 May 2022. Read more
