Asa was born on September 17, 1984. She was born in Paris to Nigerian parents. Her parents lived and worked in France at the time. Her parents worked as a cinematographer.
Asa returned to France at the age of 20 to study Jazz music. Her first single, ‘Eye Adaba’, was beginning to get airplay in 2004.
Her first studio album titled ‘Asa’ was solely produced by Cobhams Asuquo, whom she was introduced to by her former manager and friend, Janet Nwose.
Her four studio albums till date are ‘Asa (Asha)’, ‘Beautiful Imperfection’, ‘Bed of Stone’ and ‘Lucid’.
