Toya Delazy designates her sound as JEHP, an abbreviation for the fusion of jazz, electro hop, and punk. She attributes her musical inspiration to that of her daily life experiences.

Pulsing with strong beats and powerful vocals sung in Zulu, ‘Qhawe’ is the latest Toya DeLazy song. The track’s title means “be strong, warrior.” This Toya DeLazy song was written after her grandmother passed away.
As she grieved the death of her beloved grandmother, Toya found empowerment in contemplating and connecting with her heritage once again. As she turns 31 today, here’s a look at what kept her busy the past year.

Toya DeLazy and her bae Ally Sdi, climbed to the top of Table Mountain after two hours of strenuous effort in the blistering heat.

Tweeting a storm

“How can a women be transphobic for wanting to pee in a toilet with no male energy 🕯️ I respect who people think they are but not at my inconvenience the world is going mad. Females bleed , we have a womb & VAGINA can we please not share this with the male species WHAT IS WOMAN ?” Said Toya DElazy on Twitter

The issue was the use of public bathrooms and the genders to which bathrooms are assigned. Social media went abuzz with Toya’s opinion with many of her followers feeling that the openly queer singer had crossed the line.

Those neutral to the issue attempted to correct her by showing how her remarks could be construed as transphobic, but she was having none of it.
