Idols SA has lost hundreds of thousands of viewers, this is something that was probably shocking to the program directors of the Show.

Because of the incident which happened just recently, but this is something that they have never seen before so they had to do some introspection and they found out that the thing which could have contributed to their losing of viewers.

Was the fact that they had just terminated Somizi’s employment because of the allegations which were made against him by his former husband who had accused him of doing some heinous acts.

The allegations had caused a media frenzy where Somizi lost a lot of business deals including his job at the idols and this is something that is really troublesome for him, because he is the one who lost a lot in this divorce while the estranged husband lost nothing.

The show is feeling the pinch of Somizi Mhlongo’s absence, thanks to his fans. His fans have shown their loyalty towards him and have completely stopped watching the Show, because they had demanded that he be reinstated in his former position.

 

 

 

 

They want this because they love him and his personality is always making them smile, it helps them watch and enjoy the show but since his absence has been noted there is something that has been missing from the show that members of the public have identified as Somizi.

The ratings reportedly dropped by 324 847 viewers after Somizi was given the boot from Idols, the singing competition show didn’t want to have itself associated with people who are like what Mohale described about Somizi.

Prior to the incident Idols SA had over 1 million viewers in ratings in July, but only 600,000 viewers remained after Mhlongo’s exit. There’s no doubt at the moment that his presence in the show was really important, and it brought a lot of positive rating numbers.
