Former Ukhozi FM Presenter Sbu Buthelezi Breaks Silence on Investment Scam Allegations

Sbu Buthelezi, the former Ukhozi FM presenter, has finally spoken out about the accusations of scamming individuals from his hometown of Nquthu in KwaZulu Natal, which resulted in his dismissal from the radio station. It is alleged that Buthelezi’s Amombuso Investment Group enticed investors to put their money into a scheme promising a 100% profit over a five-month period.

After reportedly selling his house in Umhlanga, Durban earlier this year, Buthelezi went into hiding as those who had invested their money sought after him. He sought refuge at his parents’ home, but on Monday, he was apprehended by a vigilante group called Isikebhe, following a report by Gcinumuzi Msibi, one of the individuals allegedly scammed out of R600,000.

In his first public statement since his dismissal from Ukhozi, Buthelezi refuted the intention of scamming those who invested in his scheme. He expressed his gratitude for the donations he has received from his fans since his apprehension. “I have never imagined that the power of social media would one day come in handy for me. The love people have shown me is amazing,” he shared emotionally. Buthelezi promised to address his supporters in person, expressing his gratitude to those who donated to him to repay the people who had invested in his business. He acknowledged the impact of his termination from Ukhozi FM, stating that it had deeply affected him. “I will make time to address you when I am mentally prepared,” he added.

Buthelezi’s situation highlights the power of social media and the unexpected support he has received from his fans. It also underscores the seriousness of the allegations against him and his intention to rectify the situation by repaying those affected. As the case unfolds, many are eagerly awaiting Buthelezi’s full explanation and hope for a resolution that addresses the concerns of the investors and the wider public.
