Disgraced doctor, Nandipha Magudumana will be making her next appearance today (Wednesday, 11 October) at the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court – this follows her last appearance where she was denied bail.

 

 

DR NANDIPHA MAGUDUMANA’S NEXT COURT APPEARANCE
Dr Nandipha Magudumana will be sharing the dock with her convict boyfriend, Thabo Bester for the first time today, EWN reported. At her last court appearance last month, she claimed that the convicted killer and Facebook rapist took her to Tanzania against her own will. In April, the lovebirds were napped in Tanzania in possession of several passports with different names.Since her arrest, Dr Magudumana has missed several special occasions with her family including spending time with them on her 35th birthday on 4 September. She is currently behind bars at the Bizzah Makhate Correctional Centre in Kroonstad.

Magudumana faces several charges including defeating the ends of justice, fraud, corruption, abetting an inmate to escape from lawful custody, concealing an escaped offender, violating a corpse, aiding and arson. She is accused of assisting Bester in his elaborate escape from the Mangaung Correctional Facility, where he was serving a life sentence.Dr Nandipha Magudumana was denied bail at her last court appearance by Magistrate Estelle de Lange who ruled against her bid, saying that she was a “definite flight risk”.

“I find that she did not satisfy the court that it is in the interest of justice for her to be released on bail. [And so], the application to be released on bail is refused,” de Langa said.
