Check out what Tito Mboweni said to the new miss SA that caused a stir on social media.

Tito Titus Mboweni was a politician from South Africa who, from 2018 to 2021, held the position of finance minister in President Cyril Ramaphosa’s administration. Mboweni was the first Black South African to serve as Governor of the South African Reserve Bank.

Young South African women with aspirations of leadership might get valuable experience and exposure by competing in Miss South Africa. Contestants gain state-of-the-art knowledge in social networking, business, and general life management through the pageant process and the advice of renowned professionals.

In addition to becoming brand ambassadors for our country, champions of women’s rights, thought leaders, and shrewd career women, they are also trained to be role models for other young South Africans, encouraging them to see their own potential, respect themselves, and find their place in the world.

Ndavi Nokeri recently won the Miss South Africa pageant, and as she got her title at the SunBet Arena in Time Square, Pretoria, Tito was there to welcome her. A 23-year-old native and resident of Tzaneen, she holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on investment management.

The use of the slur “homegirl,” by Mr. Mboweni to describe our Miss South Africa sparked considerable outrage. Someone responded that the girl was too young to be considered his homegirl and that perhaps Abigail Khubeka would be more his speed.
