South Africa is one of the world’s biggest exporter when it comes to talent wether in sports or entertainment, this country stays rich with talent.

The Emmy award nominee and star actress mostly famous for her role as Kitso on Scandal! moved to the United States of America in 2018 and has starred in an Amazon original series, The Underground Railroad as she flies Mzansi’s flag high.

4. Candice Pillay

The Durban Born musician and songwriter moved to California in 2016 to persued her career on the big stage and has since appeared on albums like Dr Dre’s Compton. She has also produced songs for rthe likes of Christina Aguilera & Rihanna.

5. Mandisa Nakana Taylor

Another former Yo-tv star who is currently based in the UK after moving permanently and is now a proud mother and wife. She has 3 kids and has put down her entertainment career for a modest job as a teacher at a primary school in London.

Lesego Marakalla. Does the name ring a bell? Well, you may be those who know her as Rachel from Skeem Saam. The actress was born on the 16th of May 1993 in Mpumalanga, as of 2020 she is 27 years old.

After nearly a decade of playing the role of Rachel Kunutu, popular actress Lesego Marakalla decided to bid farewell to popular SABC1 soapie, Skeem Saam.

According to the statement that was released by Skeem Saam, Lesego Marakalla aka Rachel Kunutu left the soapie a few months ago, because she’s went back to school full-time. She added that she was not sure if she will ever return to acting ever again.

Lesego expressed her sadness at leaving the soapie and her gratitude for all the friendships and memories she’s made.

“I will miss my Skeem Saam family dearly. I have been with the show for 8 years and I have created some good friendships and memories”. Said Lesego.

The Skeem Saam production expressed how much they will miss the actress and wished her the best of luck in her future endeavours.

“In her role as Rachel Kunutu Maphuthuma, Lesego Marakalla has been one of the show’s leading young ladies, adding to the series, sustained success over the seasons”. Read the Skeem Saam statement.

Born in 1939 Lydia Mokgokoloshi is a South African actress, best known for her role as Koko Mantsha who is the mother of Charity Ramabo and grandma of Katlego(kat) and Joseph(jojo) in the SABC 1 soap, “Skeem Saam.

Koko Mantsha has been in this industry for a very long time. Her most notable role was as Mma Kwesheng in the 1980s drama, Bophelo ke Semphekgo.

The 81 year old Koko Mantsha has been on Skeem Saam since 2011. It is said that Lydia has left the left and that she will still be in and out of the story but she just won’t be shooting as much as she used to,as sometimes SkeemSaam shooting schedule gets really hectic at times and they don’t want to wear her out.

In a bid to move her to the reccuring role, Koko has since moved away from Turfloop in Limpopo which is where Skeem Saam is based. Koko left under the Show that she was going home to spend quality time with her brother Josias. The fans are definitely sad to see her go.

Despite being relieved from full-time acting, Koko Mantsha takes home a salary of about R35,000 per month. Veteran actors such as Harriet Manamela aka Meikie, Africa Tsoai aka John Maputla and Dieketseng Mnisi aka MaNtuli are said to be taking home a salary of about R30,000 to R35,000 per month.
