Somizi Buys Rich Mnisi’s 60K Xibelani Skirt Celebs are showing Mnisi support!

Somizi Mhlongo has reminded us just how rich he is. The media personality is known for wearing international designer clothes but when he spends the big bucks on local designers it is a very pleasant sight to see. Social media was abuzz when Rich Mnisi unveiled his 2021 collection called Hiya Kaya 21, which celebrates the vaTsonga culture and their colourful clothing. Rich Mnisi shocked many when he added a Xibelani skirt to his website worth a whopping R59 999.Post main image

The mixed reactions saw some saying he is ridiculous for his exorbitant price tags, with some defending him by saying his target market will purchase it. Well Somgaga is one of the people within his target market.
The Idols SA judge and entrepreneur revealed that he purchased the Xibelani skirt worth 60K!

That was not all he bought, whilst he waits for his skirt to arrive today, he enjoyed other outfits from the designers collection. Talk about supporting local. “Whilst waiting for shibhelani I decided to buy something small for tomorrow.”

People in the streets are never satisfied with anything, so Somgaga made sure to put them in their place when they requested proof of payment. He clapped back by saying, “andizi shem….then another troll will tell me I should have donated it to some ntonintoni phela nina you’re never satisfied in these streets….one thing you should know about me I support local brands and I buy most of the times including this one….if getting for free makes you sleep ok.”Perhaps this move was a way of showing Mnisi support following the backlash he received. On the day the Xibelan skirt went viral, Somgaga tweeted, “MNISI IS RICH…..RICH IS MNISI.”

Responding so a tweep who slammed people for bashing Rich Mnisi, Somgaga said he will support local brands no matter the price tag. “Africans are comfortable with spending R100ks on Gucci and LVs (supporting foreign brands) but have guts to drag, complain and shame their fellow African brother when he charge R100k for izimpahla zakhe, this stereotype must come to an end,” said a tweep.

Somgaga supported his sentiments, “It’s sad….but thina we will make sure that comes to an end……why would I buy LV all the time and not support my own the same way…”

Black Coffee is also one to spend money on designer clothes but one thing about him, he definitely supports local. If he is not wearing a Maxhosa brand, he is rocking that Rich Mnisi swag. When Rich was trending, Coffee posted a picture of him wearing a Rich Mnisi drip and captioned it, “Worth every cent.”

Busiswa Misses The Mark? remind people of Faith Nketsi. Yikes!

When musician and performer Busiswa Gqulu made it as the only female artist on the “MTV Base Hottest MCs” list, many people came to her defense looking for reasons as to why she probably deserved it. When Cassper shared the behind the scenes of the making of Nokuthula on his docuseries titled A.M.N Sessions, the timeline became a mess.Post main image
This takes us back to the time when people came up with hilarious punchlines in order to mock Faith Nketsi after she released an album.

In Busiswa’s case, she got featured on a trap/drill song where she had to lay down a verse or two. Despite her not being a rapper, she killed her verse. However when Cass shared their studio session on his YouTube channel, many could not help but feel disrespected, trolled or simply laugh at how Cass hyped Busiswa’s verse.
She is not a rapper after all people so cut her some slack!

When she made it on the MTV Base Hottest MC’s list, she too was in disbelief. She could not help but respond to people who shaded her for making it on the list, “Artists’ Managers making it personal. The game is the game. We know they do this to get the people riled up. Let’s do impactful sh*t together rather than shade each other over lists & awards. ESPECIALLY women. We’re all we’ve got. It’s all entertainment to them. Bayahleka”

“If you are a female rapper in South Africa I hope you know they have deliberately disrespected you and chose clickbait instead: me! I am also being used here. The token female (MC) that will get engagement on social media going. I have worked my ass off for 9 years only to be made a token!”

She also dragged people who mocked her for the feature, “You can’t tell me what I know about myself. Being called a rapper is not an achievement to me. No matter how highly YOU think of it. Rest mfethu.”

Tumi Exits The River! Fans wanted her gone since S1

The River’s Larona Moagi hasn’t had an easy ride since she debuted on The River in season one. She’s been written and tweeted about more times for her questionable acting skills than her experience on set and her big break on the show. She’s been compared to her co-stars who play Dimpho, Zolani and actresses, Sindi Dlathu and Motshidi Motshegwa who have been praised for their exceptional acting.Post main image
Her questionable acting skills began on social media by fans who were unhappy about her delivery and portrayal of Tumi Mokoena and those conversations were fueled further when her on-screen mother, Motshidi Motshegwa got released from the show because the two didn’t get along.

This is what Motshegwa said about Larona’s acting:

”It was very difficult to work with Larona. We can’t cast people from Instagram, give them a huge role and not give them support.

I even said at the meeting with our producers that Larona is struggling because she is not an actress and has been given a huge role to play. This is a craft. It is a skill.”

Apparently, the drama got so intense between the actresses that Larona’s parents wanted to confront Moshidi themselves. Before Moshidi left The River, there were reports that the veteran actress used to shout at Larona for her bad acting. There are now rumours that the actress is leaving the show as entertainment commentator, Phil Mphela tweeted a cryptic tweet a few days ago which read:

“TV: The River ends Season 3 with a shocker. Only 5 episodes left, then the popular telenovela wraps its 3rd season. One major character is leaving the show. No word if it’s a permanent or temporary exit. Who do you think it is? Keep watching #TheRiver1Magic.”

Here are the fans reactions:

“The River showing us Mbali’s brilliant monologue and acting is just making us more angry that we have to deal with Tumi instead.”

“It’s Larona Moagi she’s taking a break from the show.”

“I hope if she has free time she goes to acting classes asap she has potential but she just can’t express some of the emotions in front of the camera but wazama shem.”

“Lindiwe or Tumi. I hope it will be Tumi, her acting is very dissapointing, she doesn’t possess the artistic skill to be in character tumi.”

“Larona Moagi? I’d be so happy shame. I’ve tried so hard to be patient with her acting but gwa pala.”

The actress’s character, Tumi is also not mentioned on the teasers for the entire month of February. Season 4 begins on Monday the 8th of February.

Episode 2

Twice Cursed

Lindiwe tries to confront what happened but she ends up digging her grave deeper.

Analysing the teasers:

The heading “No heir” means that Lindiwe has no one left to inherit some or all of her estate when she dies, since Mbali is dead and Tumi might temporarily or permanently leave the show, with the exception of Andile, her son.

The second heading “Twice cursed” means that Lindiwe is going through a second loss…She lost Mbali and might leave Tumi if she’s indeed leaving the show.
