Interesting About Dancer Uncle Vinny

Ever since a video of him dancing to the Yanos trended all over social media, everyone has been curious about who uncle Vinny is, what he does and where he’s headed. Chatting to Scoop and Ms Cosmo on their YouTube show, The PoPcast, the rising star opened up about who he is. Uncle Vinny describes himself as a presenter, events curator and plans to get into radio very soon.

He Grew Up In Hillbrow

During the interview, he revealed that he grew up in Hillbrow, where he developed his love for the game.

“I started doing theatre in Grade 4. I had the love of SA Hip Hop before I was introduced to Hip Hop. I’m more of a curious person. If I like something, I get to it fast. I just liked radio.” He continues.

“In Grade 7 we did this project in Hillbrow Theatre. We had a frequency where only people at the flat would be able to listen to radio. I tried radio in Grade 8 and they told me I was too young.” Then Bongani, who was a station manager at the time allowed Vinny to come and guest present. At the time they didn’t have a presenter for a teen show.

Real Name

His full name is Kabelo Vincent Ndlovu. “Vincent is my grandfather’s name. It was passed won to me,” he revealed.

He Went To An Arts School

Vinny went To NSA. “If I didn’t go to an art school, then there wasn’t going to be a Vinny. I was going to join my friends and do crime,” he said.

He Is Still A Teenager
Uncle Vinny is only 19-years-old. He recently celebrated his birthday. “ME AND AUNTY B LOOKING AT MY 19TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION.”

His Father Is A Pastor

Believe it or not, the coolest kid on the block is the son of a pastor. “My dad has been the biggest supporter in my life,” he adds. “He is the guy that would walk from Hillbrow at 9 to fetch me at Braam from a school show.” His mom was not sure about him getting into the music industry.

He Avoided A Life Of Crime

Responding to Ms Cosmo about his childhood, he said. “If I want to steal I can steal. We’ve done it downstairs by the shop. Obviously as a small habit. When you are growing up in Hillbrow you get exposed to it at an early age.”

Entertainment reporter Phil Mphela dragged to court over theft

Entertainment reporter Phil Mphela is accused of theft. A Twitter user @_KealebogaMo is accusing Phil of stealing his idea after Phil tweeted that he wants to help someone who wants to do Gospel Reports. Kealeboga said Gospel Reports was his idea. He said he went to Phil’s house and discussed the idea with him.

“Phil is this what you do to me, Bro? Is this how you really workman? I came to your house last year when I offered to do #SPOTTED For you – FOR FEEE and discussed my Vision with @GospelnewsSA you told me how you can assist me to Grow the Concept? AND YOU DO THIS? REALLY? WOW,

“You had NO INTENTIONS whatsoever of tapping in this market! In fact, you were clueless that there’s something like this and you told me that “You guys are sitting on Gold” Now you are twisting it and calling it #GospelReports or #TheGospelAlert. I’m truly disappointed in you! tweeted Kealeboga.Phil denied stealing from Kealeboga, he said they were meant to work together but Kealeboga did not show interest. He further explained that he was willing to help Kealeboga, he said he even gave him ideas on how to build his brand.

“1. You came to my house. We met and were planning to work together. You didn’t seem interested in following through. 2. I GAVE YOU IDEAS and a plan to tap into the GOSPEL. NEWS space … you did NOTHING3. Gospel news coverage is not YOUR THING! That’s insane. 4. How dare you make it seem like I am stealing something from you when I am the one who was trying to help you and offered you a plan & content ideas which you did nothing with. Ask yourself why I continued with SPOTTED without YOUR help. I guess my instincts were right.

“I even gave him ideas on how to build his name and the brand. I was ready and willing to help him. He went awol. I moved on. Lots of people report gospel news. He has no divine monopoly on the genre. Simple,” responded Phil.

Happy 44 birthday to Zola 7

Kwaito musician, poet, actor and presenter, Zola 7, aka Bonginkosi Dlamini, celebrates his 44th birthday today. There’s some good he’s been known for, like helping young South Africans realize their dreams by giving out bursaries. He’s more than just a musician, but a philanthropist as well. Remember how many people he helped when he still had his Zola 7 show

However, it seems that has all changed. He has been surrounded by multiple scandals and his name has been tainted in the industry. Bad news always follows him and has kept him in the press for all the wrong reasons. Here’s a look at the 5 times Zola 7 made it into the daily headlines.

She left no stone unturned.

There was no clear reason why Sibongile Nkabinde, ex-wife of defunct Kwaito star Bonginkosi “Zola 7” Dlamini decided to come forward about her marriage with Zola 7. However, it seems she had quite the story to tell.

“I was married to that man for 16 years and tolerated all his misdeeds” began Nkabinde, before adding “he married me and dumped me in his mother’s house in Dobsonville, Soweto. He then went to stay in Melville, Jozi, and I’d only visit him just for sex on weekends – sometimes once a month.”

This was just the tip of the iceberg.

South African media personality, Unathi Nkayi, once again took to her Instagram page to share her undeniable love for her long-time friend and former duet partner, Zola 7.

The pair, who both featured on the classic song, Sana Lwami, have sparked romance rumors for years, however, they have both revealed that nothing had ever happened between them.
Zola 7 just survived a horrific car accident in January while driving in Meadowlands, Soweto. Zola’s car crashed into a shop and damaged the concrete tables and chairs, while he endured injuries to his neck and back.

There were rumors that the Kwaito star was drinking and driving, but according to Zola 7, he actually suffered an epileptic seizure.

The spaza shop owners, who called an ambulance to assist were upset that Zola 7 didn’t honor his word to repair all the damages.

Cassper Nyovest treated his fans to some footage that was taken along the journey of the release of his 5th studio album. It took his fans behind the scenes of making his chart-topping single ‘Bonginkosi’ which featured Zola 7.

Not only is the single named after Zola 7 whose real name is Bonginkosi, but in the video, fans learned that the song was not written beforehand. It was a ‘spur of the moment thing’ after Zola 7 inspired Cassper to sing from the heart.
