Congrats! Master KG bags first SAMA awards

Master KG is definitely hitting it hard this year as he finally gets recognised by the Samas and awarded as this year’s International Achievement Recognition recipient.
This is coming after the star got snubbed last year at the awards.

Master KG’s fans launched into full celebration mode for the singer after what they felt was long-overdue recognition from the Samas organisers. In the statement shared, it states: “Through his smash hit Jerusalema, featuring Nomcebo, he reached the stratosphere of international fame and acclaim. The anthemic Jerusalema sparked an international dance phenomenon that took every corner of the world by storm. Videos of flash mobs and musicians remixing the song were awash across social media platforms, from North America, South America and Europe to Asia, Australia and of course the mother continent, Africa.

“Master KG is currently in France where he is touring that country and Italy. From Calais in Tzaneen, Limpopo to the world, Master KG has flown the South African flag with pride,” read part of the statement.

Taking to Twitter, Master KG expressed his excitement.

“My first SAMA… Thank you for the recognition,” he tweeted.

Lerato Kganyago finds it weird that some persons enjoy being the first to break the news of someone’s death.

Lerato Kganyago finds it weird that some persons enjoy being the first to break the news of someone’s death.

South Africa’s entertainment industry has had a back to back record of people dying within the past 1 week, and this record is almost similar to how people died in 2020.

LKG indirectly dragged someone who must have broke the news of someone’s passing before the person’s family did.

The DJ didn’t mention names as she generalised the message.

Lerato urges people to wait for the family of the deceased to break the news before they do.

“Some people thrive on being the 1st ones to announce someone’s death on social media. Nothing wrong with waiting for the family to release a statement. Ke Botho,” she tweeted.

Lamiez Holworthy also passed out same message as LKG some months ago.

Makgotso M opens up on her struggles on not getting certain roles

Makgotso M took to her Instagram to share a lengthy writeup on her struggles of not sounding or looking South African for certain roles when she goes for auditions.

The star stated she has been told countless times when auditioning for certain roles that she does not look African or South African enough.

In her writeup, the actress gave an insight of her origin and the languages she can speak.

Makgotso said, “I am an African. A South African Zulu and Pedi woman to be precise with British citizenship too because I was raised in England from a very young age. I speak Zulu more fluently than Pedi because I was raised by a Zulu woman and on occasion, you will hear one of the many South African accents when I speak English infused with a certain kind of British accent. (because there’s not just one British accent).
