Durban Gen – Sbu must just accept that Mbali can never be his

When the Dlamini elders call another family intervention this fortnight – days after they’d reunited estranged couple Thabo Dlamini (Meshack Mavuso) and Precious (Lihle Dhlomo) – Thabo’s younger brother Sibusiso’s (Ntando Mncube) alarm bells go off ringing.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Sibusiso is on edge as he fears the elders have uncovered his affair with Precious that resulted in her pregnancy with baby Mvelo who was born in June.

Worse, Sibusiso is anxious that the elders are about to expose his secret. But as Sibusiso will come to learn, the meeting has nothing to do with his past tryst and everything to do with airing his wife Mbali’s (Neliswe Sibiya) dirty laundry.

STRIKING A BLOW

As soon as the family members arrive at the Dlamini residence, they waste no time in dropping the bombshell. “They announce that Mbali wasn’t a virgin on her wedding day as Sibusiso and his family believed,” says Ntando.

It gets worse: it’s revealed that Mbali was sleeping with her colleague Lindelani (Mike Ndlangamandla) weeks ahead of the wedding in April, causing strain in Sibusiso and Mbali’s alreadyshaky marriage.

Sibusiso bristles with anger! Given that he’s hiding that he is Mvelo’s biological father, he should forgive Mbali right away. Instead, he gives her the cold shoulder, gets into his car, and drives to Durban Gen hospital to confront Lindelani.

What transpires next is chaos between a raging Sibusiso and the unaware Lindelani.

SCRATCHING THE SURFACE

Sibusiso patiently waits for Lindelani at the hospital parking, hoping to confront him. And when Lindelani approaches, Sibusiso puts his foot on the pedal and comes close to running Lindelani over with his car.
