Zarinah Hassan commonly known as Zari Hassan the Boss Lady is the common figure on the internet and East Africa at large. Her nationality is Uganda. She is a businesswoman, socialite and a musician too.

Zari currently resides in South Africa with her current boyfriend. In south Africa, Zari runs a chain of schools, and she also owns students’ hostels which generate handsome incomes to her.

Her ancestors are from a variety of places; her grandpa on her mother’s side is Indian, and her grandmother is Ugandan; her grandfather on her father’s side is Somalian, and her grandmother is Burundian; her grandfather on her father’s side is Somalian, and her grandmother is Burundian.

Although she grew up singing and performing in Uganda, she now resides in South Africa, where she manages a cosmetics business and a tertiary institution in Pretoria, all the while pursing a musical career in the country’s capital.

In 2008, she was nominated for a Channel O Music Video Award for best East African performer, which she won.

A REALITY TELEVISION STAR

Zari formerly had a reality television show on UBC TV called Zari, Bosslady in 2012, and she is currently preparing to make a reality television comeback. Zari will appear as a cast member in the upcoming Netflix reality series Young, Famous, and African.

The country was left in reeling following the death of the well known politician Zanele ka Magwaza Msibi. The 59 years old passed away after suffering from stroke that happened in 2014. She passed away on Monday morning after being admitted at the Umhlanga Hospital. Her death was confirmed by her close ally Achmed Shaic Emam. Her death has torn the hearts of many people country-wide.

Zanele is one of the women who helped people in uplifting their dreams. She was the Deputy Minister of Science and Technology between the years 2014 and 2019. Her minister position came under the leadership of the former president Jacob Zuma.She was also the former mayor of Zululand District Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal.She was the former chairperson of the Inkatha Freedom Party and became the IFP’s candidate of the premier of KwaZulu-Natal in the 2009 General elections.

She occupied several senior administrative positions in Municipal councils while also playing leadership role in several community projects. The 59 years old studied at the University of Zululand. On the 7th of May 2014 her new party successfully contested the 2014 South African general elections and received 1.57% of national votes.

She is the mother of the well known actress Gugu Gumede who acts on Uzalo as ” Mamlambo” portraying a prophetess character. Family and friends have been sending their condolences to the family during this hard. Many are keeping the family in their prayers so that God can comfort them during such time. Magwaza was laid to rest today at Ulundi Northern KwaZulu-Natal where hundreds of people attended her funeral and many were emotional during her funeral . May her soul rest in peace.

It’s all systems go for the official provincial funeral of late NFP founder and President, Zanele KaMagwaza-Msibi, in Ulundi. KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala will deliver a eulogy at the funeral.

Indeed South Africa has lost a political giant in Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi. A powerful force she was. Unfortunately her life was cut short due to her unstable health conditions. KaMagwaza-Msibi sadly passed away last early this week after battling with health issues including a stroke. Despite her ailing health, the leader of the National Freedom Party was in the forefront of dismantling patriarchy.

NFP founder and leader Zanele KaMagwaza-Msibi is being laid to rest in Ulundi on Saturday. She is receiving a Special Provincial Official funeral as declared by President Cyril Ramaphosa. There are many questions as to why Ramaphosa declared kaMagwaza-Msibi’s send off a state funeral when he failed to do so with Former MKMVA veteran, Kebby Maphatsoe. “What’s the difference between Kebby Maphatsoe and Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi because as far as I know both were former Deputy Ministers? Why Zanele is receiving State funeral but Kebby Maphatsoe didn’t? Why is everything factional,” a Twitter user asked.

During the funeral, Kamagwaza-Msibi’s husband, Mandla Msibi thanked his wife for respecting him. He hailed her for being a hard worker even in the midstof health challenges. The NFP leader was hailed as a true “Imbokodo”!

Meanwhile, Rasta the artist has paid his last respect by sketching a portrait of kaMagwaza-Msibi and as usual, he fumbled. It’s about time Rasta stopped disrespecting departed giants though.

KaMagwaza-Msibi’s death has come as a huge blow to the nation and her family. Uzalo Actress Gugu Gumede had to take a break from the SABC 1 popular show following the death of her mother, KaMagwaza-Msibi who lost her life at the Durban hospital on Monday, 06 September 2021. Zanele kaMaGwaza-Msibi was service delivery personified. She was a legend! She was indeed imbokodo. May her revolutionary soul rest in peace.
