On Tuesday the murder trial of former Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana captain and goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa resumed in Pretoria.

Malesela Teffo, who is representing the four men accused of killing the football star, made claims that an alleged eye witness will give a testimony that Meyiwa was mistakenly shot by his then girlfriend and baby mama musician Kelly Khumalo.

The defence introduced this version of events by an alleged eye witness who has not yet been called to the stand while cross examining the state first witness on Wednesday.

Previous, there were claims that her then sister’s boyfriend Longwe Twala, the son of popular music producer Chicco Twala was alleged to be the real killer.

Teffo, said the alleged eye witness would testify that Meyiwa was shot by Kelly Khumalo using a gun that belonged to Longwe Twala.

According to the advocate who didn’t substantiate his claims, a plan was hatched to conceal the truth about Meyiwa’s tragic death and stage the scene so that those who were in the present during the shooting would not be held responsible.

Teffo has claimed that after the goalkeeper was gunned down, a meeting was held between the people in the house, which included Kelly Khumalo, her sister Zandie Khumalo, their mother Ntombi Khumalo, Zandie’s then boyfriend Longwe Twala and Meyiwa’s friends Tumelo Madlala and Mthokozisi Thwala.

Teffo also claimed that after Meyiwa had been shot, a meeting was held between the people in the house and high-ranking police officers, as well as a former Gauteng community safety MEC Sizakele Nkosi-Malubane.

The name of South African well known artist, Kelly Khumalo started trending once again today. This is following her name being brought forward in court by one of Defense lawyer, advocate Teffo Malesela who’s representing four out of five arrested suspects accused of killing Senzo Meyiwa in 2014.

Advocate Teffo Malesela said that time will come were he will call upon an eye witness who saw the well known South African singer Kelly Khumalo, shooting Senzo Meyiwa by mistake using Longwe Twala’s gun.

Now many people started demanding the South African Police to arrest Kelly Khumalo with immediate effect.

Finally, the truth will be known, Advocate Teffo has a witness an eye witness for that matter. We thank God for this.

Musician and the former girlfriend of murdered Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa Kelly Khumalo, has given her thoughts on the ongoing murder trial of her ex boyfriend and father of her child.

Meyiwa who was allegedly shot and killed by an intruder at the house of Khumalos mom in 2014, Khumalo was speaking to radio personality Relebogile Mabotja on her Radio 702 show. Khumalo who was present in the house when Senzo was shot and she was the one who rushed Senzo to the hospital after he was shot by the intruder and escaped without being apprehended by those in the house.

Khumalo who is expected to testify at trial said that “When the time is right they will hear my voice and whatever noise they make about her it has absolutely nothing to do with her”. This comes as Defence lawyer advocate Malesela Teffo made the allegations on Tuesday in court that Khumalo was the one who shot Meyiwa by mistake.

Khumalo also went on to have a say about the Justice system in the country, saying that “As a country we have a problem with the South African justice system but because there is Kelly Khumalo involved we want to make it something that is bizarre and something that never happened

On Wednesday 1 June 2022; the Pretoria High Court heard that; there is an eyewitness that is due to testify; in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial.

The witness will allege that the footballer was shot by mistake by none other than; his girlfriend; Kelly Khumalo.

This twist of events was announced by defence advocate Malesela Teffo; in his statement; he revealed that; the same witness will make more allegations:

Suggesting that the revolver fired by Khumalo; was brought to the Vosloorus home of Khumalo’s mother by Longwe Twala; (musician Chicco Twala’s son) Khumalo’s sister; Zandi’s boyfriend at the time.

This revelation now deviates from prior deliberations that Longwe Twala shot Meyiwa by mistake.

These utterances were made during the cross-examination of the first state witness; Sergeant Thabo Mosia; he is the detective who handled the forensic testing; after the shooting on 26 October 2014.

Mosia said; he had no comment on the assertions. Teffo continued with his argunent and revealed that the same witness is going to allege that; the removal of Meyiwa from the scene of the incident (namely; the house in Vosloorus) by rushing him to hospital; was done to musk the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Teffo further revealed that Meyiwa was supposed to attend a birthday party of his friend on that fateful day; so those involved; made an effort to avoid the relatives and the friends or people known to Senzo.

According to Teffo; those present in the house; during the incident; also avoided Pirates players; blocking them from coming to the house; they chose to go visit Senzo at the hospital instead.

Teffo listed the names of people who were present on the day Meyiwa was shot; as follows; Kelly Khumalo; Zandi; their mother Ntombi; Longwe Twala and Meyiwa’s friends Mthokozisi Twala and Tumelo Madlala.

The five suspects in the trial; who were arrested in October 2020; in Gauteng and KwaZulu Natal; have all pleaded not guilty to the charge of murdering Meyiwa.
