RIP: SABC TV & Metro FM newsreader Pearl Shongwe dead at 35SABC NEWSREADER PEARL SHONGWE HAS PASSED AWAY- Shongwe, the newsreader who was currently on the Touchdown with Tbo Touch show on Metro FM, was found dead at her home in Polofields north of Joburg this afternoon afternoon. A source, who did not want to be named, said Shongwe, 35, was found dead by neighbours who alerted the police. It is said she was found lying dead on her bed and with no signs of any injuries. The SABC’s Metro FM news presenter Pearl Shongwe has passed on. It is understood she died at her Polo Fields home north of Johannesburg. Details are still sketchy at the moment.
The newsreader also presented sport on SABC’s 404 News channel and Morning Live on weekends alongside Simphiwe Ncongwane.

A much-loved face on television, Shongwe was also a finalist in the Miss Soweto pageant in 2011. Business Manager for Metro FM Kina Nhlengethwa says the family has confirmed her passing. #SABCNews

The serial opera Scandal on e.tv will no longer feature “Nomvelo Makhanya “in the role of “Lindiwe Ngema”.

The actress, who has been on the show for nine years, is departing because she was cast as a character whose tale developed over time from that of a “Soweto” high school student. The actor who is known by her role name” Lindiwe “she joined the show on the early years when it was introduced on Etv.

Before just getting married to “Nhlamulo “and becoming the proprietor of a club. She was a naughty high school girl who used to give her parents problems as her father “Mlunghisi Ngema “was a very strict to her and her brother “Scelo Ngema”.

Lindiwe was known for her naughty character where she gave her parents trouble during her high school days. She ended up growing ,passing her matric well and she went to Q’s lounge to work as an waiter there. While she was at Q’s she came across Trouble when she tried to attempt and raise money for her studies and ended up working at a brothel VVip club.

“Lindiwe “was loved by many viewers for her character as she was full of energy and she knew how to entertain the scandal viewers as she has been with the show for many years.

On November 10, the e.tv soap opera Scandal! will feature the final episode of “Lindiwe”. “Lindiwe shot her last episodes that will air during this week.
