Mampintsha’s Memorial Service | 29 December 2022

Fans and industry colleagues paid tribute to South African musician Mampintsha at a memorial service on Thursday.

Mandla ‘Mampintsha’ Maphumulo died on Saturday, 24 December, after suffering a stroke the week before. The musician was rushed to hospital in Durban following a stage performance with hit group Big Nuz, Afrotainment announced in a statement at the time.

 

 


Mampintsha was remembered at Bishop Vusi Dube’s eThekwini Community Church in the Durban CBD on Thursday.

According to family spokesperson Zandile Maphumulo, the memorial took place in two sessions.

“The programme has two sessions – the religious one and the entertainment one,” Maphumulo told SABC News. “The first session will have prayers and the word of God, and it’s going to be religious, and the second session is what we will give to the artists – they will be doing what Mampintsha liked to do most. They will be doing whatever the artist wants to do.”

Mampintsha will then be buried after a funeral procession on Friday.

his family, friends and fans will gather at a funeral procession at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli ICC in Durban in the morning before proceeding to the cemetery.

Following the news of his death, KwaZulu-Natal Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube sent her condolences to the family.

Mampintsha, also affectionately known to his fans as Shimora, was the leading member of Big Nuz, the popular award-winning musical group started in Umlazi township.

He also featured in a reality show, Uthando Lodumo, with his wife, Babes Wodumo, which is currently in its second season and is broadcast on Showmax.

Babes Wodumo is trending after he was caught on camera dancing at her late husband’s memorial service. Babes Wodumo was caught on camera dancing to the song ‘ngeke’ that was created by Bignuz.

Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha spent time together for a long time now and dancing was their life. The singer did not stay and grieve while Mampintsha’s song was played. She decided to dance because dancing is her thing.

She danced in those black clothes and looked so strong. Her Fans are happy that Babes is healing from this stress and she managed to dance too.

 
This Widow showed good spirit and showed that she is healed emotionally. Although people are saying that after funeral babes will face stress and challenges, fans are happy that she is fine now.

Willard Katsande & his SAn wife Bonga celebrate 4 years of marriage

Former Kaizer Chiefs defensive midfielder Willard Katsande and his South African wife Bonga Katsande formerly known as Bonga Miya have officially been married for four years on Thursday, 29 December 2022.

The longtime couple who are the co-founders of their clothing brand Boss Ya Mboka clothing wedded on this day in 2018 in a Xhosa themed traditional wedding ceremony which was held in Cape Town.

As expected, one of them took to their official social media account where they celebrated this special day.

On Thursday, Bonga Katsande who share two sons named Santiago and Sergio with the Kaizer Chiefs legend took to her Instagram account where she shared photos where she relived their wedding day and also documented some of their special moments as a couple where they were captured wearing matching apparel from their clothing brand.

As part of her caption, the Cape Townian wrote, “Our company @bossyamboka_clothing turns 1 today, 4 years married today, 8 years together”.

When it comes to Willard Katsande’s football career, the 36 year old Mutoko born retired footballer turned clothing brand owner who became synonymous with the gold and black colours of Kaizer Chiefs where he earned cult status during his ten year spell also plied his trade in two different teams in the PSL.


 

 

According to his player profile on 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘵, “Salt & Pepper” as he is affectionately known as made his PSL debut at now defunct Ajax Cape Town and later plied his trade at Sekhukhune United in the back end of his career before hanging up his soccer boots in 2022.

It looks like Mampintsha’s funeral will be marred by war of words between those from his mother’s side in KwaMashu and the family of Babes Wodumo as it was recorded in a video outside a mortuary. But his father side of family are OK with the Simelane family. Though the KwaZulu-Natal government will pay half the costs of Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo’s funeral, said the premier’s office on Wednesday.

Um, why is the government paying for a citizen’s funeral? A citizen who was not an official, not killed by any accident, catastrophe, natural event, or anything that would warrant the spending of taxpayer’s money? 

She made her television debut as a nine-year-old child presenter. The TV personality is best known for working for eight years as a YOTV presenter. She gained prominence as the viewer’s favorite. She hails from Tshiawelo in Soweto.

The singer left behind his wife and 1-year-old son Sponge Wodumo. Mampintsha and babes got married last year and welcomed their son months after. Mamphintsha was a dedicated father who loved his son and its sad that the little one had to lose him at such a young age and while he does not understand what is happening.

Mampintsha’s wife attended the memorial service with their one-year-old baby. During the service the little one was seen crying standing next to a picture of his father. It was very emotional although the little one had no idea what was going on.

Another emotional part of the event was when Babes Wodumo held her baby and stood up and danced to her late husband’s song.
