Khumo from Muvhango : The gorgeous newbie and former Miss Botswana >>>When a good girl goes bad – former Miss Botswana on playing the villain on Muvhango ♥
It never made sense to her family. Her love for the arts and her goal to become a performing artist just seemed a bit farfetched.
Now not only is she a former Miss Botswana, but she’s on TV screens in millions of households after joining the Muvhango cast
She plays Khumo, a go-getter determined to achieve her goals by fair or foul means. She is also James Motsamai’s long-lost half-sister from his father’s side.

This is Seneo Mabengano’s first acting gig.
When she looks back on her journey, she just wants to laugh because her dreams just seemed too abstract when she was younger.
Now the former Miss Botswana (26) is set to grab all the attention with her role in the SABC 2 drama.
She first auditioned in Gaborone, Botswana, after a post was put up on social media by the Muvhango casting team.
She was shortlisted with a smaller group for a second round of auditions in South Africa. She says she was pleasantly surprised when she received a call that she was chosen for the role.
“After that audition, I went back home to Botswana hopeful and prayerful. Thankfully a month later, the phone call came, and here we are today; I am playing Khumo on Muvhango,” she says.
When she was young, she wanted to be an actress, but she never thought in her wildest dreams that she would get her break in Muvhango.
She’s had to deal with some hard knocks in life. Seneo lost her mother when she was 13, and she and her brother were brought up by her grandparents and later by her aunt and her husband, whom she considers her parents.
“I was raised in a traditional home, respectful and loving. My grandparents helped mould me into a well-rounded woman. I consider myself lucky to have experienced such an upbringing of rooted culture and having my grandparents contribute to how I was brought up,” she says.

Mampintsha’s Mother Collapses After Being Cut Off From Her Son’s Funeral Arrangements

In another episode of the unending drama, Mampintsha’s mother reportedly collapsed after finding out that she had been cut off from her son’s funeral arrangements.

Mampintsha, real name Mandla Maphumulo, died on 24 December 2022 after suffering from two strokes within days. He went through his first minor stroke after a performance on Sunday, 18 December 2022.

That whole weekend from 16 December, Mampintsha and Danger of Big Nuz rocked the stage at seven venues in KwaZulu-Natal before his body finally gave up.

After his initial stroke, Mampintsha’s sister Pinky Gumede said they were being sidelined by his wife Babes Wodumo and her family, and they told them that everything was fine and should not worry, despite their fears that something would happen to Mampintsha.

Mampintsha then died a few days later, and the Maphumulo family still got shut out of the whole arrangement.

iHarare reported that Mampintsha’s parents were denied access to their son’s body.

Mampintsha’s sister Pinky allegedly revealed:

“We don’t know what we have done wrong because we did not have disagreements with anyone. They are even denying Mampintsha’s father access. My mother wants to see her son, and this has taken a toll on her health.”

After being denied access to her son’s body, Mampintsha’s mother, Zamanguni Gumede, was excluded from her son’s funeral arrangements. This pushed her to the edge, and she collapsed, leading to her hospitalisation.

Publication Ezivuthayo Emaputaland reported:

“Mampintsha’s mother reportedly collapsed when she saw the completion of the funeral plans without being informed. Mampintsha’s mother, Zama, suddenly fell down and was rushed to KwaMashu CHC by Ambulance.

It is said that her heart was hurting after she saw on TV the funeral plans for her son were concluded, and she suddenly collapsed. She asked why she was not involved.”

As Mzansi is mourning the sad untimely death of Mampintsha, it has emerged that his mother and father have allegedly been denied access to their son’s body.

[Mampintsha’s sister Pinky has also reportedly said that they [Maphumulo family] have found out that they will not be included in the funeral arrangements,” the publication revealed.

Mampintsha’s memorial service is set to be held on Thursday, 29 December at Ethekwini Community Church (ECC) in Durban.

RIP: Brazil legend and king of soccer Pelé has died at the age of 82

Football has lost its king. Pelé, born Edson Arantes do Nascimento, passed away on December 29th in São Paulo, Brazil at 82 years old, losing a long battle against cancer that had spread to several organs in his body.

The only men’s football player to have won three FIFA World Cup titles (1958, 1962 and 1970), the Brazilian was one of the most prominent sporting figures of the 20th century. His talent turned the Brazilian Selecao and its yellow shirt into global brands.

An all-around footballer with a special talent, Pelé won fans across all continents of the world. He played a crucial role in the rise of football to the position of most popular sport on the planet.

Pelé was born in Tres Coracoes, in the state of Minas Gerais, on October 23 1940. He was named after the inventor of the light bulb, Thomas Edison, however when his birth was registered, the clerk removed the letter “i”, making his name Edson.

The nickname Pelé emerged when a young Edson couldn’t pronounce the name of goalkeeper Bilé, who played in his hometown. He would always say Pelé. At first, his teammates would make fun of the mispronunciation, without realising how iconic that nickname would become in the future.

FIFA World Cup 1958: the youngest-ever world champion
In 1956, he began playing for Santos, the team that launched him into stardom. In the 1958 World Cup in Sweden, he became the youngest-ever world champion at 17 years old, scoring in the final.

Pelé was also part of the team that won the World Cup in 1962, and became a two-time club world champion with Santos. He scored 77 goals for Brazil, a record he shares with Neymar. In 1970, he became the first – and still only – player to win three World Cup titles, as part of a squad regarded as one of the greatest teams in the history of sports.

In the late 1970s, Pelé played in the USA for New York Cosmos, before retiring in 1977. He continued to be involved in sport, working as a pundit on television and serving as Minister for Sports in Brazil between 1995 and 1998.

Over the past few years, Pelé fought a long battle with a cancer that was first detected in the colon and spread to several organs, including his liver and lung.

Pelé and the Olympic Games
The Brazilian legend never played in the Olympic Games, but in 1999 he was voted the Athlete of the Century by NOCs all over the world.

In the Closing Ceremony of London 2012, Pelé featured in the segment about the upcoming Games in Rio.

Months before the Opening Ceremony of Rio 2016, he received the Olympic Order from IOC President Thomas Bach, in Santos.

“Even if I was an Olympic gold medallist in fencing, my love for sport started with football. If I hadn’t become the president of the IOC, I would have missed the chance to hand in the Olympic Order to one of my sport heroes, Pelé, Edson Arantes do Nascimento, recognizing his sporting merit and his loyalty of the Olympic values”, said Thomas Bach during the ceremony in 2016.

Pelé also took part in the Torch Relay for Rio 2016, in Santos, where he lived until his last days.
