Friends and family have bid farewell to musician Mandla ‘Mampintsha’ Maphumulo at a funeral service currently being held at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Conference Center in Durban. The funeral will be a celebration of his life.

Music pioneer and Durban kwaito artist Qgom has been credited with elevating the niche music genreand changing country dance throughout his career. At a memorial service held at the eThekwini Community Church in Durban on Thursday, his sister Khethiwe Khubeka urged her fans to dress in their bestand wear sunglasses to send the mouse off in style.

“Thank you very much for being here today. We know very well that Mandla was loved here today because of you.” He also added: “I hope we all come a lot tomorrow. I hope we all look more stylish tomorrow. “I also did my best for Shimora today.

“You know her well when he says don’t forget to wear your shades because if you do tomorrow I don’t know what you’ll do.”

Mampintsha will then be buried after a funeral procession on Friday. Per City Press, his family, friends, and fans will gather at a funeral procession at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli ICC in Durban in the morning before proceeding to the cemetery.

Following the news of his death, KwaZulu-Natal Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube sent her condolences to the family. Mampintsha, also affectionately known to his fans as Shimora, was the leading member of Big Nuz, the popular award-winning musical group started in Umlazi township.

He also featured in a reality show, Uthando Lodumo, with his wife Babes Wodumo which is currently in its second season and broadcast on Showmax.

Dj Tira Revealed The Amount That Babes Wodumo Used To Charge Per Gig During Mampintsha’s Memorial Service

DJ Tira have shared some words of encourage to Babes Wodumo and her son Sponge during the memorial service of late award-winning artist and member of Big Nuz. The South African DJ and singer DJ Tira were one of few celebrities who attended the memorial service of Mampintsha. In the video which is currently circulating on social media, Dj Tira have told the Gqom queen and singer Babes Wodumo that she needs to claim her throne back.

Dj Tira have revealed that when Babes Wodumo first entered the music industry, she was charging R100k per gig. Dj Tira believes that Babes Wodumo can still bounce back with working hard. Dj Tira has promised Babes Wodumo that he will always be there to assist her together with her son Sponge. Babes Wodumo was married to Mampintsha. The couple was popular, known from their reality television show Uthando Lodumo. While Dj Tira was delivering his speech in the hall, Mampintsha’s mother, Zama disrupted his speech as she entered to the venue to be part of the memorial service for her son.

It’s sad and heartbreaking that her relationship with her mother-in-law Zamanguni Gumede had been broken. In the past few days, we have witnessed two families fighting over Mampintsha’s corpse. Singer Mampintsha ‘s funeral is currently being held at the Durban ICC and many celebrities and prominent dignitaries, including the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal are in attendance.
