Gomora actress Siphesihle Ndaba speaks about how she overcome personal incompetence. Siphesiphle wrote a lengthy thread on Twitter about the audition for her character in the telenovela Gomora. She talked about how she did not let “impostor syndrome” rob her of the breakthrough of a lifetime.

Taking to Twitter she wrote:

“I saw an open audition advertised on Instagram. I had just graduated so I thought, ‘meh, let me go check this out, I have nothing better to do with my day’. I get to the audition venue, I look around and I see some really talented people who are already in the industry.

“I think to myself, ‘LOL, if these people are auditioning for this role there’s no way I’m getting it so let me just save myself the trouble and go home’. As I approach the gate to leave and catch a taxi, I stop and think to myself, ‘shit, when my mom asks me how it went’,”

“Fast forward a couple months later, after four callbacks I get the role and I am cast as a lead on the most watched show on DStv! Moral of the story: Do not let impostor syndrome cheat you out of your destiny.”

Mzansi were inspired by Ndaba’s thread and many thanked her for sharing the inspiring information. A Twitterati commented:

On Gomora Siphesihle Ndaba plays the role of Mazet the car hijacking expect who works for MaSonto. The character of Mazet can do anything to put food on the table and many love to hate her. Its wiout a doubt that Siphesihle is doing justice to her Mazet character which resulted with her gaining a massive following on social media.

Comedian Trevor Gumbi revealed that his wife is critically ill and has been hospitalized in the hospital. Taking to Instagram, the celebrated comedian shared a picture of his wife complimented by a well wishing msg. He wrote

“I wish I could take the pain away. If you can make it through the night, there’s a brighter day. Everything will be all right if you hold on,”

In another post, Trevor said he won’t leave his wife’s side as she fights for her life.

“Sleeping beauty. It’s visiting hours, but, she’s fast asleep and I’m staying by her side so that when they make the movie about our lives together, my character gets brownie points and husbands across the land get the hairy eyeball from their partners, ‘cause they’ve just put their mug down, raw, on the table without a coaster.”

His fans and Mzansi came to his post and wished Gumbi’s wife a speedy recovery. An nstagram user commented:

“She missed a flight back to Johannesburg because she’d quarrelled with a member of her management team at the East London airport after we’d gone to her home to film her with her family. She did [behave herself] for the time being. She’s been filming properly and is expected to wrap everything up this week. The show depends on her cleaning her act up, and it’s sad that she seems to understand her own brand and acts out of character. It isn’t good [for her image],” the source added.
