On friday the 10th of february many people went into mourning after finding out that music icon Kiernan Forbes ( AKA) was shot outside a restaurant on Florida road in Durban. His killers have not yet been caught.

 

 

 

 
AKA’s daughter Kairo is forced to grow up without her father, she is only seven years old. She took to twitter more than a week after AKA’s death to pay tribute to him. She posted a video of the two of them together and captioned it ” i love you daddy” The video clip got a lot of people emotional. AKA was very talented and had a huge impact on many people’s lives. He was laid to rest on saturday the 18th of february in Johannesburg. His new album ” Mass Country released on the 24th of february. He was even honoured with a live billboard in Times Square New York. May his soul rest in peace.

A happy child is a result of two parents who genuinely love their child. Money doesn’t buy one happiness but love does. Raising your child with love makes them be a great human being when they grow up. They give the same love that they received to other people.


 

It’s such a shame that nothing last forever but it is life and we learn as we move. If there’s one thing the late rapper AKA did, was to love the people in his life unconditionally. One of those people is his daughter Kairo. He loved her so much that he made she was happy at all times.

She shared a video of some of her and AKA’s moments. In the beginning her mother DJ Zinhle is heard asking her to say something and she’s speechless. She going on to say that he was a good father and that she loves him.

How AKA was snubbed at Nelli Tembe’s funeral program

AKA addressed vital issues in the Mass Country album which was posthumously released on Friday, 24th of February. The rapper talked about life, his current relationship, family, and hi ex-lover Nelli Tembe who died after jumping off the balcony of a hotel. Nelli died a few weeks after accepting Kiernan “AKA” Forbes’ proposal and payment of her lobola. However, he was not honoured by the Tembe’s family.


“I can feel no pain, nothing comes close to the way I feel when I go back in my memory bank and I see that frame. Thatburned my brain forever,” said AKA in Diary (Anxiety). Kiernan said he had a speech to give at Nelli’s funeral but he was silenced.

“I gave it everything that I had. How you gon’ cap and not even make one phone call to my mom or my dad after we part to send down the casket? That is wack. Passive aggressive. Never mind Bheki Cele, he wasn’t even on the programme. I wrote the speech and took my seat and nope nothing. My name was nowhere,” AKA says in the song.
